The restoration of this lighthouse is superb from the furnishings to the floors and the exterior. Everything is immaculate. The docents are very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to sign a waiver to go to the top and the view is expansive. It's worth $5 or $6 per adult to contribute to it's care and learn more about the history of the area. Outside there is an anchor and a lifeboat from a couple of shipwrecks. Interestingly, if it weren't for Luxembourg it would likely not be what...

First time at the Port Washington Light Station and it was nice! You will have to park on the street, but there were plenty of spots. The lady here was very nice and knowledgeable about the history! Military personnel and their families can tour for free, but they do charge for a passport stamp. Get a Lighthouse Passport so you can get your Port Washington Light...

An 1860 Light Station restored to it's original beauty in 2000. Lots of fascinating history here and they even commissioned a replica 4th order Fresnel lens for the tower. The ladies that run this place are so nice and they're about to start offering guest keeper positions in the near future. Had a great time...

We were traveling at the end of March from U.P. Michigan back to Chicago and visiting lighthouses on the way. All of them were closed for the season. At this one, we were lucky because keeper shows up and gave us a tour. Very interesting and informative. There is no parking, but you can park nearby on the street.

We took the stairs up to the light station. There is a great view from the top. We took a quick look around and found a nice neighborhood surrounding it. I didn’t know there was a museum until reading reviews. I assume the museum was closed when we went.
