Golden West Building — Attraction in Portland

This building is run and operated by central city concern and is used to provide temporary housing for homeless clients while they participate in treatment and await permanent housing vouchers to become available. It is a secured building with 24hr staff monitoring the entrance as well as the client floors. Guests are not allowed in the building or in the clients rooms, not even if you are a current resident. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared on each floor. And laundry facilities are provided for free for the clients. It is not a requirement to be clean and sober to be able to stay at the golden west but treatment options are available and encouraged. Overall the staff at the golden west are very nice and helpful. Very good place for people who want to better themselves, if you are chosen to participate in the program here , consider yourself very lucky and don't throw the opportunity away, if you really want to change your life , these are the right people to help you. I have never been in a program like this. And it is the only program that has been able to help me. I have nothing but great things to say about the staff and especially the HRR program director Mr. Jones he is truly a good man. Also it is funded by the Portland Police Department and Central City Concern . I Also have nothing but Great things to say about PPD , Two Cops in particular I won't name them due to the nature of their work. But absolutely great men. If I could one star this place more than once, I would... Please please please, if you’re trying to get better and recover, do NOT go here. They won’t help you. You’d think a court ordered treatment facility would work but they don’t. They goof off and lie to you....
