We've been purchasing Ota Tofu at our local Market of Choice. Compared to the other tofu I've purchased - there's just no comparison. Ota has a clean and fresh taste, no off-flavors or cardboard-y odor. It's even good plain although I usually include it with stir-fried veggies. And flavors including sesame oil, Nongs Khao Man Gai sauce and whatever furikake I have on hand. Nutritious and DELICIOUS! I like that we are supporting local businesses too. Read moreIf you’re the kind of person who thinks “tofu is tofu, why can’t I just buy a block at my closest Safeway” you should visit Ota and get one of each kind. It will ruin you for other tofu forever. Sure the Safeway tofu works, but the whole time you’re eating it you’d be thinking “I could’ve used Ota tofu for this dish and it would be 10x better.” Thankfully Ota is also sold at New Seasons, H Mart and several other stores, since I can’t make the trip to Southeast Portland all the time.
