I always walk right past this straight to downtown! They close at 2 so be there by 1 if you expect your selection on crisp greens. The vendors do an excellent job here. I love sampling and picking our fresh produce for one or two meals during the week. EBT is accepted. Prices are reasonable and quality is superb. The sense of community it brings is lovely and it helps smaller artisan vendors promote their more expensive quality items while encouraging the urban farming movement in St. John’s. I went this morning again solo— get your butts out of bed and get some food! Dos Hermanos Bakery and Macintosh Hill Maple Works are a must.

Pipsqueak Nursery (Adam) is our favorite vendor, so lucky to have him at the market! Best heirloom tomatoes and fruit — we look forward to all of his produce all year!

This farmer's market was small but had a plenty of vendors with different goods. We had a great time here! It was a nice experience.

The last time I went to this market, the fruit from a stand (berries) I purchased was moldy. I noticed the blueberries were sweating as I drove home; I also saw that the price was too good to be true. Should have known. Did they get these from the Safeway across the street?

First time I've ever received moldy fruit at a farmer's market.

Edit: I don't think it's my job to vet the product your market is selling. I was operating under the assumption that the product being brought to the market is fresh. Mold indicates that it was not fresh. I bought both blackberries and blueberries, the blackberries were molding and the blueberries were soft. Indicating that both berries were old. I'm also under the impression that farmers can do their own inspection of their own product. If a farmer is unaware they have moldy berries, it might imply that they did not grow those berries nor package them. If I were bringing product to market, I would know the condition they are in because I'm the one who picked, packed, and...

There is something for everyone here at the St John's Farmers Market. It's absolutely worth the trip. There are so many knowledgeable and passionate vendors. And each Saturday offers something different as well as the staple vendors who returned from previous weeks.

The best thing is the EBT match program. Spend $20 getting additional $20 free!

Check out the information booth for more information or to use your EBT benefits.

It is a little bit difficult to find. If you're having problems ask someone and they will point you in the...
