St Johns Swapnplay — Local services in Portland

We love St. John’s Swapnplay! Our family joined about two years ago. It’s a very nice clean place that is continually working to improve and there are lots of fun family events throughout the year.

The equipment, toys and materials are high quality and fun for kids. There are lots of learning and exploring opportunities throughout the multiple indoor rooms and the outside play area.

If you’ve got a baby 6 months and up I’d highly recommend joining and getting there! (There are perks to joining earlier like getting access to trading zone and a Facebook group where people offer stuff up and you can ask for needs.) Membership is worth it even if you go twice a month! We met a lot of wonderful friends and it was a lifesaver to connect with other parents.

Kids absolutely love it. The classes they offer are fantastic. My kids especially love the movement class. Lanie is so good at getting the kids to "dance" their own dance. She leads them through word play like acting out the meaning of words like big, small, flop, drop ect using a Djembe drum and different textiles as the kids learn the feel of texture and self guided play.
