UPDATE: I returned to Advanced Computers for a SECOND visit today (since the first visit in January) for repairs on a different PC. Ryan (I think his name is) did another fantastic job. He was done quickly, and it was very reasonable cost-wise. He's very knowledgeable and kind. I think someone would be wise to go straight here if looking for the best place to have a computer evaluated and repaired. Just check out his reviews compared to the reviews of other shops in the area. There's a reason these are pretty much all 5 stars. He stays plenty busy, which is also a good sign. Anyway, I'm pleased again. As much as I hate shelling out money on any kind of repair, Ryan does such a good job that, as I was leaving, I found myself thinking about getting out my older laptops at home and bringing them into him to get them repaired, even though I don't really need them and it's not entirely necessary. Anyway: Go here. It's the safe choice. You won't be disappointed.
[Original Review below] It was Google reviews that I relied upon when choosing this place. I looked at all the computer repair places in Knoxville, and most of them that had a decent star rating didn't have very many reviews, which led me to wonder if some of those weren't left by the proprietors of those establishments. The ones that had a lot of reviews didn't have a very good star rating. So, this was about the only one with a really good star rating AND a lot of reviews. In fact, no one had even close to 4.9 stars and 95 reviews like this place does presently. Anyway, my expectations were met and exceeded. This guy is super knowledgeable and kind. He works very quickly...in fact, almost too quickly as once he's done he doesn't have much space to keep machines and needs you to come get it asap (but that's great for those needing their computers back). He is so very reasonable. I was somewhat bracing myself for the final costs, but I had confidence he knew what he was doing and wouldn't spend too many labor-hours on the problems. I was very pleasantly surprised by the low cost of repair. I was relieved. He even helped me carry it out to my car. He demonstrates the computer working before he checks you out at the counter. It's just good old-fashioned-type service. I can't say enough. I'm very pleased and will definitely go straight to him for my next issue with any of...
Read moreSeveral months ago, I had major computer problems. For whatever reason, I chose Advanced Computers of Knoxville to look into the problem. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Within minutes, Mustafa had diagnosed the multiple issues with my computer and corrected them on the spot. He did not have to send it away, or take several days to take care of it; it was resolved immediately. He even took the time to educate me on what I should and should not be doing with my computer so as to preclude future problems. Mustafa went far above and beyond what I expected, for a very reasonable price. Needless to say, I was immensely impressed. From that point forward, I knew Mustafa was my computer man for life.
Just last week, and much deeper into my grad program, more computer problems. No problem I thought; Mustafa's my man. I called him right away at Advanced Computers of Knoxville. He informed me that if I could be at his shop/store off Cumberland Avenue before 5:00 PM he would have me up and running in no time. I drove forty-five minutes across town, literally passing dozens of computer repair shops to get my computer to Mustafa. Honestly, this time I expected to hear that I would have to replace the computer given the issues I was having. After a few moments, Mustafa quickly realized my hard-drive was bad. For a few dollars, within minutes it was replaced, on the spot. Mustafa, after being asked, even told me my computer did not need to be replaced despite its age of almost three years, all the while his shelves are full of computers for sale.
If you are looking for an honest, incredibly skilled and knowledgeable computer repair shop with extremely reasonable fees, look no further than Advanced Computers of Knoxville. Mustafa will even keep you laughing while you wait as he has a great sense of humor. What more could...
Read moreWe used to use the old Advanced Computer located off Morrell Road near Northshore when they were operated under the old management. We lost track of them after they shut that location down and eventually opened up at their current Clinton Highway location under new management. So, we found a computer "repairman" in 30 minutes away because so many locations around Knoxville had less than stellar reviews, but that "other guy" never seemed to want to actually repair anything, just tell you it can't be fixed or that it wasn't worth the costs and offer to "recycle" your equipment. We got fed up with that and decided to give the new Advanced Computers a try, and right off the bat, two computers (one laptop and one desktop) that the other guy offered to recycle, they fixed and did so for a VERY reasonable price and did so VERY quickly! Both machines are working great! We had planned to use the other guy for a future upgrade on another desktop. Yet, he started talking as if a complete rebuild were necessary when the discussion prior to that had been about only replacing the motherboard and processor, since everything else was mostly upgraded. Advanced Computers found the perfect solution for us and we dropped off the unit this morning...late morning, mind you...for the upgrade and they were calling us in the early afternoon to tell us it was done...all for a very reasonable price...as reasonable as I had hoped to get the upgrade done price-wise! We are all very pleased with their services, as we have now had 2 repairs and 1 upgrade completed by them in the last two weeks. If there were going to be serious cracks in any façade, they would have shown already. They're for real and we highly recommend you go straight to them, or you might just end up with "the other guy", like we did...
