I participated in three auctions with this company all needing to be shipped. I had issues with all of them due to errors on their behalf. My address was correct on my file and on MY INVOICE provide by the auction company. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited a couple weeks before calling because tracking was never provided only to be told it already shows delivered....... I stated I never received a package only to find out it was shipped to the incorrect house. The second auction I did I called making sure it was shipped to the correct address they said it will be. I did receive that package to the correct address only to get the package with a note wrote on the outside stating I needed to update the shipping address I called and state everything was correct on my end invoice that they billed to and all was correct. I then participle in a third auction with them yet again shipped to the wrong address mind you I called before hand again to make sure it is shipped to the correct address as every thing was up to date on my end. Yes yes it will be...... I wait another couple of weeks for this packing thinking post office did have delays and yet again they don't provide tracking. I call and they say it was already delivered.... could only guess it was yet again shipped to the incorrect address but this time I spoke to a gentleman that said I should go to the house it was shipped to, go see if they have it and chase my package down that was an error on there behalf as that is what he would do..... mind you I could have done all of the right away with tracking provided..... I do not recommend participating in auctions you are having to have items shipped.. I didn't feel the gentleman I spoke with was professional when it was their company's fault...
Following up to the owners response and adding emails that he should have done all of the follow up on before he went on his rant. If he reviewed and spoke with his employees he would see that all of my invoices are correct from the start and that hi bid did not have any incorrect information. Emails attached clearly show that it was in there post office system not hi bid invoices have always been correct. Also if he would have done more digging he would have also seen that I did not receive my first package and yes was credited I DID RECIEVE MY SECOND PACKAGE AFTER CALLING TO ENSURE IT WAS CORRECT....... AND BILLED FOR THE SECOND PACKAGE....... THE THIRD PACKAGE I NEVER RECIEVED AND YES WAS CREDITED FOR THE PURCHASE..... EXCEPT FOR THE SHIPPING..... This would have never happened if they would have went off my hi bid invoice that was provided and generated by...
Read morePowell used to be one of my favorite companies until I really needed them and they failed me. They were in the habit of shipping merchandise to me since I live over an hour away from the Knoxville area. If it was a really large item they would take it to their office/warehouse and hold it for me to pick up. This time I had bought some items and paid for them. I was called and asked to set up a pick-up time. On the day set for pick up I was very sick with a fever and dizzy. I was in no shape to drive. I called and explained that to the lady and was told no problem just like always. Then some man calls me and tells me that I have to be there by 3 PM to pick up the stuff. I've already told them that I was willing to take only the small shop vac and some Japanese cookbooks I'd paid for. He tells me that he doesn't have room and it is my responsibility to pick it up. I try to explain how sick I am but he is in such a hurry to get rid of me that he practically hangs up on me. End of story is that I lost over $100. So, a lesson learned. Powell will not live up to their agreements they have with their customers. Later I found out the man lied and told his boss that he didn't even think about taking the stuff to the office for me even after I had asked him to do just that when I talked to him. I'll never use them again. EDIT* This is an update on the situation. Powell Auction did contact me and offered to refund the money that I had lost on this deal and I really appreciated that. They asked if I still wanted to cancel my current bids and I told them that I did. I do not want to end up in that same position twice but it was a nice gesture of them to return my money from this auction. I still cancelled my user name with them but feel better about the company now because there was no offer to send items to me in the future as they had in the past and that is a big deal for me. Every auction company I deal with will ship the items I win to me or someone I name to receive it in case of a firearm. Make your own decision just know that you will have to go and pick up your merchandise no matter what happens to you. In a car wreck? Too bad, you still need to be here to pick up your stuff is the attitude I get...
Read morePowell Auction Company was selling multiple lots of 800 silver in their online auction. I won most of the lots including a set of coasters. The lot description says (marked 800) and give a weight of 18oz. As soon as I unpack the set of coasters and see them they are clearly not silver (visually, touch, sound, and the mark all tell someone not silver). Any auction company would know that they weren’t silver. I went back to review all of the auction lots of silver to see if they provided weights and clear pictures of markings for the silver lots and whether or not they provided weights for non-silver items. After comparing all of the lots every silver lot had clear pictures of the marks along with weights. All non-silver lots had pictures of their markings and no weights. LOT # : 76 - SET OF (6) COASTERS - MARKED 800 No pictures of marking provided. Weight of coasters was provided. I request a refund and return this lot. They stated that they are not in the wrong because they never stated they were silver. I asked why even mention they are marked 800 and provide the weight of the items if you know they weren’t silver. This was clear deception to sell fake items and they didn’t provide pictures because everyone would have known they weren’t real. The way they are trying to cover themselves I would also believe that they were the ones bidding the price up knowing these were fake. I was also asked to pay with wire transfer which was new for me with them. I’m assuming so I wouldn’t have any recourse with the situation whether it be a charge back for selling fake items. I always like to get to other professionals options on matters like this before filing claims or writing reviews. I reached out to a few silver collectors and sellers would buy in auctions daily and they too agreed with was clearly deception on their part seeing how they knew they weren’t silver but lead others to believe they were. I reached out one last time sharing the options of the other professionals and that I would be filing with BBB. I don’t see why it is an issue refunding when I spent over $3,000 purchasing all their other...
