The island is a great place to spend time on the riverfront, playing disc golf, using the bike/pedestrian trail, and bird watching. There are special events all year long. Don't miss Music on the River, Thursdays from June through August! I would give five stars, but they don't allow dogs everywhere on the island, and I think they could manage the land in a more environmentally...

Went to the Prairie Dog Blues Festival at the park. Two bridges to the island . Huge RV and camping areas .The grounds were well kept . There is a tavern on the island, and the festival had a wine , beer , & non-alcoholic TENT ! Two alternating stages gave continuous music ! Plenty of food trucks and craft tents . Really nice park. Very spacious. Right on the water. Great place to picnic; tables as well as covered shelters available. Public restrooms spread through the park.
