River District Hotel — Hotel in Prairie du Chien

I seldom give 5-star reviews. I don't want to cheapen their value. But in the case of our stay at the River District Hotel in Prairie Du Chien, I do so without hesitation. Why? To begin with, the warmth and friendliness of everyone at the front desk. It is obvious they place a high priority on our satisfaction. Secondly, our room was modern, clean, and had every amenity you would expect with first-class accommodations. Finally, was the value they provided. My first thought looking at their rates was that it was a bit high for a small town in Wisconsin. But other reviewers mentioned how good their breakfasts were, so I thought if that's the case the price isn't so high. The reviews did not prepare me for our experience. The breakfast is over-the-top for any hotel we've ever stayed at that featured complimentary breakfasts. And it didn't stop there. Completely unexpected was that they also include dinner! I didn't see this mentioned anywhere. The dinner is modest: Soup, fresh dinner rolls and pie. Given it was an unexpected bonus, now included in the price of our room was the fact that we really didn't have to spend any money on food during our stay if we didn't want to. Of course, we went out to sample the local cuisine, but I was still bowled over by the overall value. Oh, and did I mention fresh chocolate chip cookies at night? Yup.

So this is what's behind my 5-star review. The confidence that your stay at River District Hotel will be a real treat.

We had an amazing experience for our wedding at River District!

River District was so accommodating to our needs for our wedding in Eastman, WI. The staff was so warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived on Thursday. They gave us undivided attention and provided the best customer service we could have ever asked for. We almost filled the hotel with bridal party members and wedding guests and it was such a fun experience. They let us use the conference room for free for getting ready the morning of the wedding.

They provide a complimentary breakfast every morning with made to order omelettes and French toast. The woman that cooks every morning is so cheerful and warm. What a way to start the day!

In the afternoon they offer a Wisconsin cheese plate complimentary to guests. This is followed by warm cookies and an ice cream sundae bar.

The hotel was incredibly clean and beautifully decorated.

Management has done an excellent job transitioning from Americinn to River District. We made all of our reservations before the transition and nothing was lost!

The first look at this place from the driveway gives you no idea how wonderful this place is. Very friendly and helpful staff. They put out treat's in afternoon and ice cream in the evening. The lady handling the Breakfast, wow. We met the afternoon we checked in. She mentioned she would be fixing our breakfast the next morning. I thanked her but said we were shying away from buffets now days. She said come on by she would take care us. Did I say wow? Perfect omelets, the buffet not only great food but kept clean she changed out serving spoons and cleaned other touch spots on the serving area. Most impressed I have been with complimentary breakfast. The Bed, it ranked in the top 2 of any hotel bed for comfort. The owners placed an inspirational book and note in the room saying it was a gift for their guest. Can't say enough about this place! It topped my expectations and I...
