The Blackhawk — Restaurant in Prairie du Chien

Had been wanting to try this place for a while finally did tonight. Had a terrible experience they were busy they had one table that was very large and it must have thrown the whole place out of kilter. Did the all you can eat fish and after eating my initial serving I asked for one more piece of cod and a few pieces of catfish and waited about 45 minutes to get it. First they finally brought out one piece of cod alone and after eating that and waiting more i asked for the bill which i finally got served with the catfish at the same time as the bill. By this point we had been there about 1hr 45 min so all I wanted was the bill and to get the hell out of there didn't care about any more fish it wasn't that special anyway. Of course waited a bit more and they never came back for the bill so i took it to them and couldn't get out of there fast enough.The only reason I gave it a three stars because this place does bring in some good live music which i appreciate that but 1 star for food and service which I won't ever...

At least the bluegill was okay.

A group of 8 went to The Blackhawk for the first time for Father's Day weekend. We were handed a paper menu to start off with only consisting of high priced entrees. After asking our server if there was addition menu options, the server acknowledge there was and brought two separate menus with different pricing.

While waiting for our food, the adjoining bar was loud enough that our group was not able to have a conversation.

At the end of the meal we were told that they only accept cash or check causing all 8 of us to scavenge enough cash for a $200 bill. One server was brave enough to say that the entire business district is cash or check only which is a lie because we used card payment at a neighboring restaurant earlier in the week.

After leaving with a migraine and robbing our juvenile children for cash to pay for a "cash only" restaurant, we will not be returning and will not silence...

Rating on restaurant, did not use bar. It's not a place to take your family with kids to eat. Staff was swearing at customers, thinking it was funny. This was a multitude of times. Food did not match the price. Flavorless. For example, nachos, the beef had no seasoning in it, other items were purchased, nothing finished, my friend was trying to finish her burger, but the plate was taken out from underneath her so no to go boxes needed. Over half the meals are priced over $20. I don't see the justification for this. Burgers, yes, $7.99, but it comes with no sides and a cold bun. The waitstaff didn't add anything positive to the experience. She was rude. She seemed to be upset with her co-worker. Towards the end of our dining experience, we were not going to ask her for anything but the bill as her vibe was so uncomfortable. Bar Rescue needed for...
