The lady there was extremely rude and was looking at us as if she’s ready to throw hands if we didn’t turn off the car engine. Context: We did not know they wanted customers’ car engines shut at the parking lot. We had literally just driven in and asked a male whether cherries were ready (who was neutral and nice). Not even a minute in as we were trying to ask him this time whether the peaches were ready, the lady comes out of nowhere real close to our window (she has something in her hand) and yells at us to turn off the engine. When we said we had literally just arrived and were just about leaving (which is why our car is still on), she looked at my family so pissed and says “THEN LEAVE”. Not even as a business but as a grown person, one would think basic manners and courtesy for a potential customer would be normal, but not here. I understand it’s their property but we entered seeing a “Pick Ur Own” sign. Thanks for...
Read moreI have been there with my wife and kid this past weekend. We liked the place there. We enjoyed picking up the pears and apples. The pears are really good. This place is managed by a senior couple. When we parked our car, I came to ask a question. The lady requested me to turn off the engine. I felt sorry, because that wasn't good for them to inhale the CO2 while they are helping protecting the environment and keep managing such a place. I went back to my vehicle and told my wife, who was planning to stay in the car while my kid and I are going inside. She was happy with that. The reason I am mentioning this is that I saw some visitors who were angry because they wanted to keep their car engine on during their whole visit. I just don't want to see a negative review about a place just because someone wasn't caring about the health of the people who provide this serve for just a few bucks, instead of...
Read moreA lovely place for a walk through the orchards in the fall! Success on getting apples is highly dependent upon your timing, but if your goal is to just have a nice fall day outdoors, there is plenty of space to explore and enjoy the scenery.
A warning: Crooked Run's communication and management can be a bit finnicky since they are a family-run farm. In the winter, they offer Christmas Trees, but it was very unclear when they were open and how the process worked. My family arrived on a weekend when they said they'd be open just to see the gates closed and have no way to contact the ownership to figure out if they'd be opening up at any point that day.
Despite the management hiccups, it's still a nice, local place to explore, and the interactions I have had with the management have otherwise been...
