If you like high prices, small gyms, and high-school behavior, this is the gym for you. So recently, there was an incident look I'm a grown man. I don't need high school behavior by one of the managers. This place WAS good. This has definitely been a disappointment from people who are supposed to be professional. THERES 2 SIDES TOO THE STORY. No worries, I will be calling coparate. I thought this place was different than planet fitness. I thought this situation was done, but you guys are still talking about me behind back. I guess I will be contacting coparate. I read the other reviews. Obviously, people are still playing high school games. Also, the person that caused this if you can't handle people being nice to you get a home gym. I did nothing to you and told your wannabe bodybuilding friends and a muscular manager to follow me around in the gym like I'm a criminal. I'm far from feeling safe. I don't date old people. I never hit on this person anyway. I told them my weight loss story. The person told me about themselves too. This is so pathetic. People LAUGH at this behavior. You're not a victim of this situation. I did nothing wrong that this person needs to get over themselves. It's typical liberal stuff. Don't tell someone you're not being bothered and then go tell staff the next day...childish. Please go get membership at planet fitness they condone childish liberal behavior. I didn't serve this country to be pushed around by liberals. I spoke to the district manager, which went nowhere. i thought at first, but he lies i cant trust him. I'm tired of fighting evil people selfish people. I'm still going to be me nice and respectful to people. I hope the owner has seen this. This gym is overpriced cliques. If you're new there you will get a lot of rude people and if you're a man the staff will treat you like you're crimnal. Go to eos and save your money at EOS. The district manager said he looked on the camera footage. I asked what the body builder looked like that was harassing me. He didn't even know what he was looking at, and he called me a liar.. don't worry better, buisness Bureau is in contact with me. Please don't go here. There are way better gyms that are priced better. The DM laughed at me when I said I was disabled vet. He not only thinks he is law enforcement but he's psychologist too wow, sorry sir your just manager at a gym. He had no right to treat me like this, and I won't feel bad when BBB took care of this. And back to the situation, you had no right trainer manager to touch me. I'm trying to prevent people from being harassed for being nice people. It's time to be accountable for your actions. If the trainer manager would focus on his job and not flirt with every woman, he might be a good leader. Also and if he stops holding the other mangers baby for 20 min a day. This gym people is horrible. I feel bad for the owner. I'm sure he would be disappointed by this behavior. Much more to tell you stay tuned. The reason I keep posting and why upset is that they deny any wrongdoing in this situation, which is far from the truth. I told Gregg the night before I talked to her and did not hit on her. He knew my intention, and he still put my hand on me and took her side. I told him I had never hit on anyone in the gym. I'm friendly to everyone. Own up to your actions, Gregg influenced this. She needs to grow up. Nobody is trying to hurt you. You don't have to be afraid (according to her review). Grow up. It's still the worst gym in Valley. So a woman recently gave me a book at the gym, so should I tell her for being nice...nope, I'm an adult. I can accept people being nice, or I can use my words kindly and not try to gain attention from the staff. Today is Mother's day...mother's deserve EOS, not a childish and dirty gym, with staff catering to women for their personal gain. I can't believe i have to go to Better Buisness Bureau to get an apologizy, it just shows you how immature this company is. By the way, Mountainside training staff is poaching your clients at EOS because I...
Read moreI recently requested a 5-day free trial pass through Mountainside Fitness’s website. After submitting all my personal information online, I received a pass via email. Over the next several days, I was contacted daily by sales staff encouraging me to come in—everyone was friendly but definitely persistent, to the point of being a bit on the pushy, not excessively so, but a bit annoying.
When I finally showed up to use the trial, the front desk staff was courteous, but I was asked to fill out all of my information again on paper—which seemed unnecessary since they already had it online. After completing the paperwork and showing my photo ID (which they verified), I was told I could work out—but only if I allowed them to physically hold onto my ID while I was in the gym.
I found this policy completely unacceptable. I was told it was due to a “liability issue” because I wasn’t a member yet. I explained I wasn’t comfortable leaving my ID with them, as they had already verified who I was. I offered for them to make a copy, but they insisted on retaining it. So I took my ID back and left.
Before I even reached my car, the general manager (very friendly and professional) called me on the phone and offered to let me work out without handing over my ID—but only if I came back inside to talk in person, even though we were already on the phone. She cited “member safety” as the reason for holding IDs, but again, they had already verified my identity.
This practice is both invasive and unnecessary. Holding onto someone’s ID—especially after verifying it—feels controlling and leaves the impression that you’re not free to leave without their permission. It’s also frustrating to fill out all of your personal information twice.
I cannot recommend Mountainside Fitness based on this experience, and I suggest others be aware of these questionable policies before signing up for a trial. I encourage everyone to speak out and share their experiences like this as it lets businesses know that we don’t like this type of experience and perhaps they listen to us to make the experience...
Read moreThis gym is fantastic. Ive been to several moutainside fitness locations and they all impress. I will say that at this location, someone goes above and beyond. I drive 45 minutes to this gym simply because of Gilbert M. He is the fitness training manager and my person trainer. I worked with him at the cadence location and was so impressed with his professionalism, dedication and passion of training and educating me, that I had to follow him to the queen creek location when he was promoted to manager. As someone who has had personal trainers for over 10 years, I can honestly say that Gilbert is a diamond in the rough. He helped me loose over 40 pounds in the last year after gaining the most weight in my lifetime during the pandemic and got me Wedding ready as a newly wed. I built muscle and burned fat with his coaching. He also showed me how to do workouts on my own time and how to use equipment properly. Even his minor adjustments and details had me feeling different and made me get the most out of my workouts. After being with him for almost a year, I feel more comfortable working out and have incredible confidence. I also notice that each session I learn and grow. I compare it to my violin lessons, yes I know how to play the violin, but with each session and lesson, I get better and more advanced. Same applies to my personal training session. There is no limit. I plan on continuing to work with Gilbert for years to come.
Overall, if you have a chance to pop into this gym and meet the wonderful staff, you wont regret it. The positive energy and willingness to teach others no matter what level of fitness is incredible. It's been an incredibly positive outlet for me and has helped me deal with stressing in such a health way. Thank you Gilbert! you honestly changed my life and thank you for making me the most beautiful bride on my wedding day. Ive never felt so...
