I went to Pei Wei last night during the dinner rush. It took a little under an hour from me entering the location to exiting it with my take home food. That, however, is not why I am rating the location as two stars. I ordered the chicken fried rice, the daily special of General Tsos chicken, and two pork rolls. I did take my order home but did not throw it around while I drove home (which is only about 5 min away). As you can see from the picture attached, the pork rolls' chili sauce was put in sideways with a semi opened lid. It was spilt all over my now soggy pork rolls when I opened the container. Major bummer. However, I get that they were busy and mistakes happen. What really made my experience a two star experience was the too long for my head hair I found in my fried rice. That was disgusting and caused me to throw the whole thing away. So I was left with soggy pork rolls and no chicken fried rice for dinner. It was not worth the hour long wait and $22 bill for me. On the plus side my wife enjoyed her General Tsos chicken so I couldn't give the review just one star. I truly hope they work on their food quality and training as I was very excited for a new Chinese place being opened close to us.

We don’t normally eat Pei Wei but we grabbed some food at the queen creek location earlier this week. I got the sesame chicken and it was delicious, the chicken was crunchy and had sesame seeds on it and the broccoli was green and fresh. We liked it so much we ordered food at the Gilbert location near Dana Park and it was the worst Chinese food I have had in a long time. I ordered the sesame chicken again and it didn’t take or look like sesame chicken. The breading was mushy and bland and the chicken didn’t taste good. Even the brown rice was different, it looked and tasted like someone just microwaved some uncle Ben’s. My wife’s shrimps were terrible as well, same mushy soft breading. We will never eat at this location again. In both cases we ordered take out and the queen creek food sat in our car longer than the Gilbert food. We don’t eat Pei Wei enough to know if the queen creek location was a fluke so we will give it one more try. But we will never order food at the Gilbert location again. So disappointed, I didn’t even finish my food it was that bad.

Low quality, overpriced food. Friendly and prompt service, nice presentation, but unfortunately the main protein dishes were not good. We ordered their family dinner. Beef Broccoli and General Tso Chicken for the main courses. Beef and Broccoli tastes like chewy liver. Went straight in the trash. I have no idea what part of the cow they use for this but its extremely tough and chewy with a unique beef liver taste. I’m afraid to know what type of “beef” this is. The Broccoli was cooked perfectly. We ended up only eating the broccoli. The General Tso Chicken flavor was okay but the breading was a mushy mess. Rice was good and their dessert donuts were on the dry side but with good flavor. Our meal for 2 cost about $40.00 and it was mostly rice we ate. sad to say we will not be eating here again.

Update two years later - still haven't gone back. My neighbors report getting the same poor customer service due to the company not stepping up and making this location better. Nice employees, grossly overworked/understaffed - which causes chronic errors and poor customer outcomes.

Two years ago: God bless the nice young people that work here. They definitely get the brunt of it. But corporate needs to see this review and ACT. Yesterday we waded through the app to order food for delivery, and after 10 minutes of dealing with the glitchy app and composing the WHOLE family’s order - when it came time to pay, the app said “This location isn’t taking delivery orders now. Try another location. Guess what Pei Wei? This location is the only one in town!! The next closest one is 30 mins from us. So, tonight, we ordered it “take out”… the app worked smoother and it said for me to arrive at 745pm, which was 22 minutes after I placed the order. I got here at 745pm exactly. It’s after 8pm now. Not only do I NOT have our order, but I’m SEVENTH in line on their “In Progress” board. There’s a full lobby of people in the little pick-up side-area. This is completely unacceptable. How about corporate helping this store out in making it run more efficiently? You already close earlier than most of the establishments around here. The poor young folks working here catch the brunt of the frustrations from the customer. Good grief though - how poorly can a location be until customers get sick and tired of the inefficiency? Time to step-up, Pei Wei. One note to the staff working - APOLOGIZE for the delays. Not doing so is just going to add to your customer’s...

Great staff, well organized, very clean. It was a great experience. I just don't really like the taste of Pei Wei as much as some other people do, but that's only personal preference. They do a good job with good sized portions. It's similar to a cheaper place like Panda Express, but with some Thai flavor profiles, which is a plus. In places like Panda, the food taster a little samey, but I like what they have. At Pei Wei, adding the Thai flavors makes the dishes taste unique from each other. But for me, the flavors are a little too strong to the point of being overpowering. The orange chicken takes more like oranges than oranges do, like they used a lot of orange extract instead of orange zest and orange juice. The Thai Basil chicken didn't have any noticeable basil, but tasted like too much anise. To me it tasted like licorice chicken with bell peppers and onions. But that isn't really the restaurant's fault; it's just not my preference. I bet a lot of people like this just the way it is. It's just that if I want fast "Chinese" food, I'll go to Panda Express. If I want fast Thai food, I'll go to Thai Chili 2 Go. Both are a little cheaper and I like the taste there better. I feel the other places are more balanced. But if you prefer the taste here, than this is an excellent place and a...

My food wasn't that good if you are looking for this type of food you are better off going to panda express. My buddy's shrimp was breaded but some how still frozen in the middle the soy sauce that they provided was warmer then the shrimp... the fried rice was somehow sticky but the bottom of the bole was filled with oil so I'm thinking the food isn't cooked for the alloted time needed. We didn't want to make a fuss because we were in our company uniforms so we just wrote a note and left we unfortunately did eat the food because we were worried about food Poisoning so we just left. I already took about 30 minutes to get our food and the place was busy. The drink I got was watered down as well it seemed they were falling behind on alot of things for having a full staff. There was limited seating for the amount of people that were in the building so we didn't want to take up any space and did feel comfortable having our food remade. As we got back to our hotel we realized we should have said somewhere incase they were serving the same quality of food to a child that doesn't know better and that would eat this food and get sick from it so we do regret not saying anything. But I will say that the girl that took our order was super...
