Clean Dreams Car Wash LLC — Attraction in Rahway

I just bought a house up the block from this car wash. I have 2 children and thought this place was super convenient to drop off my car and walk back home with my children. I called them on a Sunday to make an appointment for detailing and was treated with a terrible snarky attitude the entire time. I called them twice. The first time to see if they could fit me in the day of. To which the gentleman replied "we dont have ANYTHING for 3 weeks". Ok underatable. I said "yikes ok thank you" and we hung up.

I searched the area for another car wash but this was the closest by far.

So I called a second time to schedule an appointment to which he replied "well you need to hold on cuz I'm busy". Ok underatable. Then he asks me what I want done to which I reply a detailing. Then he begins " I know that. What KIND of detailing" with a condescending tone. I said "well I dont know what kind you offer. I've never been there". So he proceeded to explain the types of detailing they offer and I selected the "interior only" one.

Then he gives me a date for a Tuesday that happens to be only 2 weeks out. I explained I need a weekend appointment because I work during the week. He replied "well we don't do detailing on the weekend. MOST people work during the week but guess what they make it work like uber". I said ok but I have to take my 1 and 3 year old to daycare and the babysitter. He replied "well I dont know what to tell you. People figure it out". It was rude and it was NOT UNDERSTANDABLE.

Clean Dreams has been my go-to since moving to Rahway four years ago. The managers and crew always did an immaculate job on my poor, neglected Subaru, and the price was great for full service interior and exterior. I noticed a different crew the last two times I was in though, and also noticed that neither owner was there. Most importantly, I noticed a decline in their attention to detail. The first time was at least understandable; they were busy and the missed spots were in places that were out of direct eyesight. This most recent time however was inexcusable. Someone missed the entire passenger side door, which was noticeably dirty with drips from a coffee accident that weekend. I brought this up to the new manager immediately, and he had someone give it a once over. It's at least cleaner, but I'm still going to have to do quite a bit myself. That said, I don't think I'll be going back after this. It's clear the new management is more interested in turning over cars as quick as possible, and squeezing that much more profit out of costs by decreasing quality. It's a shame because this place is a Rahway...

Gone are the previous brothers that I believe launched this business. However, the new owner is a good guy and honored the rewards program from the previous admin. A plus!

My review is based on my visit in January of 2021. The unfortunate negative is that his staff is not as diligent and detail oriented as the previous crew. If you look at my photos you can see they didn't fully clean the wheels, touch the door jams, or vacuum the crevices in between the front seats and front doors. I had to ask them to clean the tailgate of my truck because they missed it. Blew my mind TBH. Maybe they've got better techs now for summer 2021 but diligence is important in this business. I wish them the best. I personally wont be revisiting.
