Alta Vicente Reserve — Attraction in Rancho Palos Verdes

Nice views of the ocean, Point Vicente Lighthouse and (on clear days) Catalina island. The Nike/Prickly Pear section is a short loop with some steep bits. WATCH YOUR BALANCE: It goes through a thick grove of prickly pear cactus -- downhill if you go clockwise! Not much shade except where it goes through was appears to be an abandoned farm. Well-cleared when I went yesterday, but it can get overgrown at times.

This is by far my second rated hiking spot in California and the first place Calabasas.This place has the relaxing view of the tones of the ocean and on top of that the place is very well kept up by means of trash and parking lot access. If you want a beautiful photo of the view on the top portion I would suggest a 360 photo. The nature walk the way down the hill toward the biloing trees at the end is calming and breath taking experience for me and probably you as well.
