My girlfriend and I found this place on a whim. We were going to go to another restauraunt in the shopping center, but last second changed our minds and decided to give Asaka a try.
Immediately we were greeted by the SWEETEST server ever, Nana. She was beyond friendly, professional, and had an amazing attitude. I am vegetarian so she helped me out with plenty of options and substitutions.
We sat outside on the patio. Covid measures were practiced appropriately. The food was colorful, gorgeous and down right delicious.
We had miso soup and fried tofu for appetizers, the sushi burritothe hungry tiger roll and also the bento box lunch which the bento lunch special was only 12 dollars and filled me up.
Pair a couple of sapporos and a green tea I've cream, we left happy as heck (and a little fatter, but hey, ya gotta spoil yourself every now and then)
Anyone who is looking for a safe place to go to with a pretty view and good food now that outdoor dining is...
Read moreThe sushi was pretty good but there were some things that really sucked. Let's start with the good, the yellowtail baja roll was pretty awesome, lots of yellowtail in it and it tasted pretty fresh! Also surprisingly the tuna stuffed jalapenos tempura were pretty good as well.
They also had karage popcorn chicken which was okay but a little on the dry side. You definitely need a dipping sauce with this one but if not it's pretty dry.
The thing's that were not so good was the crispy salmon skin rolls, that was pretty disappointing and disgusting. It was cooked salmon and the skin was not even a tad crispy, it was soft and chewy, so stay the hell away from that. It shouldn't even have the name crispy salmon skin, it should be called sawggy gross skin.
The green tea ice cream looked amazing but didn't really taste like green tea or like the normal green tea ice cream you find at all other sushi restaurants. Pass on the green tea ice cream.
The Udon was okay, I've had better tasting ones.
Overall stick with the sushi...
