10/5/23 Simply fantastic. My wife and I stopped for lunch after visiting mom at Avenue Italy. We started with drinks and the eggplant parmesean for an appetizer, and wow, it was fantastic. Ernesto, our server, was amazing, professional, and friendly. The young man bussing tables was also kind and quite efficient. This place is a favorite when we are in the area. The decor and interior are quite exquisite and impressive. We sat in the patio and had a nice ocean breeze. For one entrees my wife had the branzino entree, and I had the salmon entree. Both dishes were well presented and prepared with flavor and perfectly seasoned. My compliments to the chef. This is a wonderful restaurant, and the food, service, and ambiance are stellar. Highly recommended.
Previous visit What a fantastic find. We had a wonderful late lunch at Avenue Italy just off the coastline of Rancho Palos Verdes in the Golden Cove Center. We were taken to a nice table for two by the host and shortly after greeted by our amazing server, Ernesto. We started with drinks and the eggplant appetizer and oh so good. After our appetizer we ordered our entrees. My wife ordered the Halibut with lemon capers, roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables and she loved it. I ordered the Filet Mignon with spinach and tomatoes and it was delicious. Ernesto was very attentive and quite knowledgeable about the menu items and preparation etc. The meals were superb and the portions quite generous. The bread was also delicious and the bottled water refreshing. We also tool an order of 4 meatballs with marinara sauce home for tomorrow. Simply an amazing place and they have live entertainment on Tuesdays. Highly...
Read moreMy brother and his wife celebrated their anniversary at Avenue Italy in September, and highly recommended it, so my sister and I decided to go there recently on one of those rare nights when it’s just the two of us. The menu selections all sounded wonderful, and we were having a hard time narrowing down our choices. Our server was cheerful and enthusiastic, patiently answered all our questions, and gave us plenty of time to deliberate while having a glass of wine. She really wanted us to have a memorable meal; and since we had arrived late and it was a slow evening, she suggested that the chef come out to talk to us. He graciously offered to prepare smaller portions of the three entrées that interested us the most. We had an incredible meal that allowed my sister and I to sample two of the specials that were featured for the evening (a New York Steak topped with mushrooms in a brandy reduction sauce, and the Lobster Ravioli) PLUS one item from the regular menu (Deliza Marina: a Scallop and Shrimp combination). Every entreé was delectable and perfectly prepared. It was such a delightful meal that decided to share the Crème Bruleé for dessert. Have to confess that we are undeniably particular about Crème Bruleé, but we were impressed. Avenue Italy has a charming, intimate atmosphere, a knowledgeable and professional staff, and a very talented and unusually accommodating chef. If you want to enjoy a truly fine dining experience without snobbery or inflated prices, I highly recommend Avenue Italy. My husband and I are planning to visit Palos Verdes in December, and I look forward to taking him there for a scrumptious, leisurely...

I recently stayed at Terranea nearby and since the food there for the most part isn't that great - I looked around nearby for food that I could pickup and eat back at the hotel. Ave. Italy came up as one of the choices and craving some Italian food, I used their webpage to place an order.
I originally ordered the Chilean Sea Bass but unfortunately, they phoned me a few minutes after I punched my order in to be told they were out. Instead, the person over the phone suggested I order the halibut which I did. I came by about 25 minuets later with my mask on (literally 5 minutes away from the resort), got my temperature quickly checked, and picked up the food.
The halibut came with roasted veggies and potatoes in a white wine and tomato sauce (which you also get to choose). I went with the sauce after asking the person at the restaurant what the best choice was. The halibut was superb. Delicious, flavorful, and cooked just right. Even to go, the halibut was a delicious treat and felt like just the right amount of food.
Along with the halibut came some of their bread along with olive oil which was also solid.
Cost-wise, I paid about $50ish which seems high, but the quality was terrific. There was also some limited outdoor seating as well in case you wanted to stop by. Would be more than happy...
