I've been to two of these little cafes and I prefer the one that is in Malaga cove. The difference I found is that the one in Malaga cove gives you the feel that you are in another country it's very cute and the courtyard is nice and you just feel like you're at a little cafe in France or something it's really really nice. The one in Palos Verdes is also nice but you know you're in Palos Verdes and it's very busy and the street is right there so you've got cars going past you and 50 miles an hour and then the light turns red and you're reading their exhaust if you're sitting outside. It is however nice to sit outside because you can see the ocean and on a nice day you can see Catalina which is a treat. The food was equally good at both locations however I think the service was better at the Malaga cove location. Possibly because the one in Palos Verdes was very busy and it seemed like the clientele in the Palos Verdes location were a little more rude and giving the servers and the wait staff a little more attitude and hard time. I felt sorry for the poor cashier She look like she was about ready to drop. I could hear people behind me complaining and just generally being unpleasant so I felt very sorry for her and I actually came in and gave her a tip in addition to leaving a tip...
Read moreWhat a FANTASTIC place! I heard about Yellow Vase online and decided that it would be a perfect spot to stop and try out. We found a table outside with a great view of the ocean. We placed our order at the counter and the line moved very quickly so dont be intimidated if it looks busy because they are FAST! They clearly have a fantastic system in place because no sooner did we sit down after placing our orders and take a sip of our tea and espresso and our food was out! The goat cheese on the Roasted Veggie Scramble was delicious,my only complaint being that there wasnt more of it! It was a great balance with the salad and few slices of bread. The decor was adorable, and of course we had to get some pastries to go! What an absolute gem of a place, it seems the different locations may have a few different options for food as well to keep it unique, and I very much look forward to getting to try out the other locations as well. We will absolutely be back to this location and to hop around and try the others! With such a diverse menu I cant wait to try some of the other...
Read moreI went here yesterday and ordered a latte at the counter and the girl working was very friendly. I tried the latte and I didn’t taste any flavoring, so I asked if there was any way they could add a little bit of flavoring to it. They said they could make a new one for me, and I told them that seemed like doing a lot, but they insisted. I saw behind the counter the girl had a conversation with the person making the lattes. So I sat and they brought the new drink to me. I waited a while to take a sip and the drink was INSANELY hot. It burnt the hell out of my mouth. Now my tongue and the roof of my mouth are singed and I’ve lost my taste. After I tried it, a few minutes later when I walked by the counter, the woman who made the drink asked with a smirk if I “liked my latte?”. It felt sarcastic and passive aggressive, as if she made the drink incredibly hot on purpose. I didn’t say anything and just kept to myself. But I will say I’ll NEVER be going back. It was decorated really cute inside, and the other girl working the counter was lovely, but wow, I felt attacked for...
