It used to be great but isn’t so much anymore. I don’t know if it has been a change in ownership or just management, but this place has circled the drain. We used to love this place for its authentic Thai food and wonderful service. Today, I made the grievous error of selecting to eat here over the hundreds of other Thai restaurants and the thousands of other restaurants from Torrance to Carson to Long Beach to downtown LA to Manhattan Beach. I wanted somewhere casual and easy. With the view this place had, I figured that since this place has been great in the past, it was a safe bet for our super chill anniversary dinner. NOPE! I was wrong! The crispy mango fish was supposed to have a lime based sauce. What was served was crispy sole in sugar water. In fairness, I have to say there there were fresh mangoes in the dish. The server never came by to check on the mess he left. Had he checked, I would have just requested limes to fix the dish myself and happily ate it. Instead, the longer I waited, the more irritated I got. When we finally flagged the server down to ask for limes or lemon or something, I was already disappointed. At least the girl bussing the table was super sweet and helpful when we asked for boxes ( gonna try to salvage the fish using the leftover curry) The one star is for her. At that point, I really just wanted to get out of there. The bill also took forever to be given after we requested it. This will likely be our last time there as we do not appreciate the changes that has been foisted on the place. There are tons of other Thai food places in this area. Check them out instead: Baramee, Jasmin, etc.
Note to new owner/manager: you should have kept the old staff, who were awesome. Your new servers are not good…the girl busing was pretty awesome. I recommend going to other restaurants to learn the basics such as checking on the food delivered...
Read moreDecent food but it’s all for nothing because of one member of staff who has a disposition of a miserable rainy day(noticing this for the second time and hence forced a review)
The experience - Ordered on DoorDash, app said meal would be ready by 2110.. was there by 2115 and attended a call outside the restaurant in my car.. After a suspiciously long wait as the restaurant was closing I knocked on the window at 2145 to enquire .. Turns out the order was ready but they didn’t update the app..
I was willing to let it slide and say thanks and leave but the remark made was ‘ please come earlier’ in a terrible tone only that man can carry off
I then said, that I was here at 2115 and suggested they update the prepped order on the app so the customer gets the notification ..Instead of taking the suggestion on board - all the gentleman did was get argumentative
I m now going to call doordash and suggest that either they train the business or offboard as it also influences the app itself..it is imperative a business taking advantage of the app for revenue knows how to work the app
Food is ok- but don’t go there for service - clearly! Cos a routine dinner order can turn into a bad experience
Happy to reconsider the rating if things improve if I ever( unlikely) go there for the food - cos Thai food is too fantastic to have a few bad spirits...
Read moreThis place used to have excellent food at reasonable prices (for Palos Verdes), but it's not so reasonably priced anymore, and some of their dishes are pretty bad. It still has a beautiful view of the ocean from their patio, however. Be careful about what is charged on your bill. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallops with Asparagus stir fry, which was 23.99 on the menu they gave us, but I was charged 26.99 (maybe because I got brown instead of white rice?). It tasted ok, but was small and definitely not worth $26.99. Their Crispy Pork was so dry it was almost inedible, but my friend did want to send it back, she just left half of it on her plate. Their Yellow Curry and their Pad Thai are their best dishes. If you love shrimp and lots of garlic, get the Prawns Lover, it's good. Their Mango and Sticky Rice dessert is a work of art and big enough for a table of 4 to share. Service was pretty bad, even though the place was half empty on a late Thursday afternoon. We had to ask for our bill, then they ignored us for so long after handing us the bill that we had to get up and go to the cashier with it, as the sun had set and it was getting cold and we were shivering because they hadn't turned the heaters on...
