What a truly terrible experience from beginning to end! When I call to schedule an appointment I was quoted $75 an hour to have an employee come look at our refrigerator which included paying for their drive time to and from shop. The appointment was confirmed for 11-2p and then the same lady rep I spoke with called and left a message on my machine days later confirming a different time. I did not get that message, my husband had told me they called and I assumed it was confirming the same date and time of the appointment that we had discussed. Not so. She changed it from 2-5p. So there I sat waiting and when he didn't show up and I had to leave I called the office. There was no apology and she seemed bothered to have to call him to say I would not be home for 1 hour. I told her I appreciated her calling him and I'd be right back home. I was and he came over for approximately 20 minutes. He found nothing to be wrong with the refrigerator and charged us $99.50. When I shared with him what the office had told me he called the lady rep directly and she said that she never told me it was $75. I told him that I would go ahead and give him the check and that I would talk to her about this since it was a conversation I had with her. I wanted him to know that the office is saying something different and he should be aware of that because other people they serve will not be to happy about this. I appreciated that he wanted to make it right, and even more so offered to come back anytime in the next 90 days if there is any problem, or the said problem shows up... free of charge since we paid more than we were told. I was surprised, and confirmed that it would be completely free which he assured me yes. He said all we needed to do was call the front office and tell them that he said this and he will come back over. The next day the problem showed up so we called. I had to leave while he was here but heard him say what the problem was before leaving which was essentially unclogging a vent in refrig by cleaning it out. When I pulled in my driveway he was and has vehicle leaving. The next morning I got a phone call from a new voice in the Office asking for a payment. Once she clarifies everything, I found out my husband signed a form they had him sign to pay an additional $96. With my husband being beyond busy, he did not catch this nor did he have time to deal with this situation. After finding out that he agreed to pay, I told the lady on the phone that I would like to talk with Joe and left my phone number for him to return my call at his earliest convenience. I told her I would talk with my husband and confirm everything she said and then I would call back and pay if that is the case. Apparently before I was able to call back she had called my husband on his cell phone leaving a message that he agreed to make a payment. We were busy with other priorities and so I called this morning (2 days) after services occured and gave them this payment in full. Still waiting for a phone call from Joe? We were lied to and treated unfairly as if we weren't going to pay them. Someone is a bit paranoid. All signs point to bad business ethics and practices. Very deceptive. We will not be asking for their...
Read moreThis review is the result of two poor experiences with Carmonas. I really like supporting local business and when Terry owned Carmona's, It was better place to shop. The selection, prices and in store service is good, no complaints. But that is where it seems to stop. About a year ago my wife and I bought a new washer and dryer set from Carmonas and we love them (so far). The guy that installed the dryer for some reason removed the dryer vent hose from the rigid pipe that goes through the wall. I was not home at the time but my wife told me that he was frustrated trying to re-connect the hose. After a few minutes of trying to re-connect, he told my wife he was going to tape it to the wall with aluminum tape and that it would be fine sense no one would see it behind the dryer. When I got home I looked over the work done and was surprised to see the unprofessional tape job which had already separated from the wall. I reconnected the the flex hose to the rigid myself in about 60 seconds. When I called Carmona's about the experience there was no form of apology or an attempt to make things right. This leads to my most current experience. We bought a freezer form Carmonas about a month ago (mid September) and it was to be delivered on Oct 13th between 9-11am. I called a week before delivery to see if the freezer came in and if delivery was still on the set date. Delivery date 11am, no freezer and no calls. I call Carmonas and they pushed the delivery out to 1pm,. It's now 1pm and no freezer. Called Carmonas..."any minute now..."230pm, no freezer and no calls. Call Carmonas...sorry but your freezer was not ordered, but we have this other freezer and we can deliver next week". Now Frustrated, I asked what they were going to do to make it right? I was told they would call me back in a "few" minutes with an answer. 4pm, no call. I called Carmonas..."oh I have someone on the way with a replacement just like the one you ordered but with different style shelves...be about 40-45 minutes". 630pm our...
Read moreUpdate: After speaking with the owner and the manager, we came to a mutual agreement to upgrade the dishwasher and pay the difference of the model. I was appreciative of them making it right. I also appreciated the manager reaching out to follow-up and confirm things were still going well.
Let me start positive and say I had a pleasant experience with the sales staff as they seemed very knowledgeable regarding their products. I always try to shop local when possible and keep money in our community.
My biggest complaint is with the service department. The staff is friendly but the process is a joke. Thankfully my 5 month old refrigerator and dishwasher are still under warranty because this is the second service call I'm having to make. After calling to initiate service, you're given a day that a service tech will call you. In my case, Friday between 7:00-8:30. Then and only then, will the service tech give me a time that he will actually plan on coming to my house. When you work full-time and have kids to run between school & sports, its really hard to wait for a phone call so you can then plan a service call for an approximate time, especially when you live 15 minutes from work.
The last time I had the service tech out to my house for my dishwasher, it was because the unit wasn't getting hot enough. I was told to run my hot water in adjacent sink prior to starting my dishwasher. It's a huge waste of water and for a brand new machine, it should be able to heat up the water it pulls from the tank. I never had to do this with my old dishwasher. Hopefully they honor their products and replace if defective. I spent more money to buy local and have not...
