Where do I begin? The Dj arrived to set up and we are informed that the power is out and they would have to rig a power cord to set up. I was the maid of honor trying to set up everyone and running around. The 2nd red flag was I asked one of the staff to let me know when the officiant arrived. I end up going into a locked suite and was upstairs. as the brides daughter was walking out the employee decided to let herself in. this is a private area and we we're getting dressed. the bride was automatically upset but told me to deal with it. I asked her not to let her self I. again and advised her I would deal with it. Fast forward maybe 20 minutes later, someone told us the officiant arrived at 5:45 (she was supposed to be there at 5, the wedding was set to start at 6.) but said she needed to leave promptly at 7, which was never expressed before then. the bride was not happy. the place was booked from 8am-2am and we only used the services of the bar, everything else was our own vendors. So the same lady came in again uninvited and was trying to tell the bride the same thing that a bridesmaid had already told her. the bride went off on her because once again she walked into a private room uninvited after she was already told not too. she was not an employee in regards to the wedding service and we previously told her he did not need or want her to interfere.
Next we walk down aisle and I left some Gucci slides in front of the door because I was rushing to get in place. We come back and the shoes have disappeared! I asked the lady she claims she knows nothing about it. During the reception, we send the brides daughter and some other kids upstairs to grab something from one of the dressing areas. The go upstairs and come back crying telling us one of them fell down the stairs because there was a huge dog lunged at them and barked and is guard the door to the dressMing area. I think they have to be joking so I go to investigate. Sure enough there is a huge black and brown German shepard not allowing us upstairs and is sitting infront of the room door. I tell the man at the bar and he laughs and says the dog is friendly. Why is a lose dog in a building where a live event is happening? so unprofessional!
Lastly they lie and STEAL! my Gucci slides disappeared, several of the ladies items disappeared including a reception outfit that was hand made in the chapel closed to everyone else. The only thing that reappeared was an appliance in a huge box under the gift table after I asked to see the camera footage.
i would give them zero stars if it was possible. Don't let them ruin your special day. It was a...
Read moreAltogether I would rate our experience a 3 star but I will separate it into categories. Venue: The venue was a 4 star in my opinion, a beautiful place to get married with lots of options. It poured on my wedding day and they were able to move us to the chapel to get married instead of having it outside in the rain. The reception was outside but covered and had lots of heaters hanging above to keep us warm. The venue could do with some updating, some things were not as clean as they could be and the loft we rented for the night was not very comfortable, but it has an old day charm to it. The ladies that handled my account were very friendly but they did confuse things easily. Also they had a prom event that same night, and they did not do a good job of keeping our wedding private, there were prom couples coming through our reception all night. Also the parking situation was horrible and cars from the prom guests were crashing into our guests cars. Catering: We had our food catered through Edwards Mansion and we got the Chicken Cordon Bleu and it was SO DELICIOUS! the chicken was tender and the cheese was just oozing out of the chicken. 5 star for the catering!! (only thing I didnt like was that they cleared my plate of cake before I could take 1 bite! we had to get up to do the dances and when we came back it was gone) Coordinator: 1 Star! She was horrible!! She treated my family with disrespect on the rehearsal day because I had food poisoning the day before and was running late. The day of the wedding I saw her twice, she moved us to the chapel when it was raining and that was about it. I asked Edwards mansion if I could meet with her before the rehearsal to ask questions and get to know her but apparently she doesn't do that. She didn't help coordinate the wedding at all, and by the time the reception started she disappeared. The DJ and Photographer had to take charge and help us run the wedding. She was horrid, I wish I would have hired a separate coordinator not from Edwards Mansion. Apparently she is the in house coordinator for all weddings. DJ was amazing he was a better coordinator than Robin was and he played...
Read moreThey cleaned up the place very nicely, as I had some complaints. But, I didn’t appreciate giving my sheet music (the song I’d be walking down the isle to) to staff over a months in advance, and being told it was lost a month before our wedding, then being told rehearsal night that our pianist just started practicing our song on piano (which showed.) I repeatedly asked the months leading up to our wedding if there was any events going on during our lotted wedding time (since everything is so close together) they repeatedly confirmed there was no other events we’d have to worry about going on. Well it’s now day of, it’s 30 minutes before our wedding starts, my now husband and I are doing our first look photos outside, to have some other event pull up, random people flooding in, and literally interrupting our wedding photos to ask US, very obviously our wedding day, to take photos of them. Thankfully the ladies at Edwards took care of that situation… As our wedding begins, and I am walking down the isle, I witness staff standing outside watching us get married, kinda awkward. They took care of our complaints, and provided a covered area if it rained for free! but a lot was overlooked/didn’t seem a big deal to them, even...
