Oasis Market — Local services in Loma Linda

I have to assume I caught this place at a very odd time. I really wanted to check it out because I live on the mountain and know folks involved with the Goodwins in Crestline, so I was looking forward to supporting this establishment. First, though, it is a very awkward location in the bottom of an apartment building?! So, parking can be extremely limited. It is quite small, which I was expecting. I walked in, saw someone at the cash register, decided to browse and pick out a few things, then went to the cash register, where, now, no one was standing. I waited a few minutes with a basket of items as someone that looked like they may have clocked out, but was in uniform, walk right past me without offering to hail someone down to help me. People saw me standing there and did nothing. I decided to put my items back and went to Trader Joe's. And, as luck would have it, as I walked out, someone was at the cash register again. I have to say, I didn't see one person smile or greet anyone. Hopefully they do better on the regular and this was just a bad day, but I doubt, based on that first experience, that I'll be...

It's cozy, mostly with the meaning of small. With that said, the variety they have is quite impressive; they pack a lot in the small space. They have a prepared foods area that they downsized to make room for more groceries (probably a good idea), a coffee/fresh juice/acai bowl station, and a nice range of groceries, including pantry goods, fresh, refrigerated, and frozen stuff. They also have a small selection of natural body care products, supplements, and other odds and ends, including alcohol. With a water dispenser for filling your water jugs (alkaline waters, and other options), it's kind of amazing how much they packed in. As others have noted, though, the service can be hit or miss. With that said, they do allow access to the goods at some of their larger stores; I ordered bulk beans that their Riverside store carries and I was able to pick them up at this Redlands location. I recently stopped by Goodwin to grab a bite I purchased the gobbler Sandwich and let me just say it exceeded all expectations. The sandwich was generously portioned, and each bite was an explosion of taste and texture! On top of that, the service was absolutely fantastic. The staff was friendly attentive and make sure I felt at home. They took the time to explain the menu and offered recommendations making the entire experience for personal and welcoming. It’s rare to find such a perfect combination of delicious food and top-notch service but at the Goodwin you will receive both. If you’re looking for a place where you can enjoy an absolutely great sandwich & outstanding service Goodwin is a must try. I’ll definitely be returning soon.
