This is only a review based on my outdoor experience. Both Tommy (manager from Mountain View) and manager from San Carlos are currently in charge of the outdoor facility and both have always been super sweet. I absolutely love the outdoor set up. There are 8 squat racks and Smith machines as well as leg machines and adjustable arm cables. There are the typical free weights and cardio machines. There are plenty of hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray bottle and paper towel stations. Reservations are required on the Go24 app and masks are enforced. I did see a staff member come up to a gym member to make sure the masks covers his nose as well, not just his mouth so that was reassuring. You can still use the restroom facilities but only the toilets and sink. Everything else is closed off. You can purchase drinks that are currently (Feb 10) buy 2, get 1 off for singular drinks. You wait in line at the front door entrance to check in and scan your phone and then cross the parking lot to the outdoor section. There is no music but there are spin classes that occur at the 4 pm slot. The breeze is wonderful! And I feel healthy. Review updated 01.11.2023:. Recently, the machines are consistently malfunctioning and in need of repair. Parts are in short supply and therefore, machines continue to be broken and unable to use for a couple of months. Most importantly, prior to the pandemic, the Spin room used to be open to the public for general use. Now, only 3 bikes are available outside behind the stair climber and 1 is consistently broken. The bikes are always in use and this is my primary source of fitness. I had the opportunity to speak with the manager and he states that he is unable to open the Spin room, reason unknown. He states that he is unable to bring more bikes out to use, even one, because of spin classes. There were no classes to be in session that evening. I have always come to the Redwood City location since it's opening. But unfortunately, my relationship with them has now come to an end. I'm sure it will not make a substantial impact to them as they have so many clients. My time is so much more valuable and I would rather circle around to find parking in San Carlos, rather than spending my time waiting for a bike. I'm also unable to use any machines and keep an eye out at the same time since all the bikes are positioned behind a wall. If you enjoy spinning, this is not your place if you come after work and need to rush out to pick up your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey are in violation of their own policies. I signed up for membership. The salesman knew, the people at the check in counter knew and the personal trainers knew that my husband brought in my 2 year old who stayed in the stroller to watch me swim. According to the manager, it is against their policy to have anyone under the age of 12 in the building due to liability issues. And yet they have swimming lessons for children throughout the week. All I ever saw were children under 12 years old. My guess they need to shut down the lessons since they cannot have children under 12 in the building and the swimming po is in the building. I donāt normally write negative reviews, but Iāve had enough. You certainly get what you pay for. There are no towels provided. Well fine, I wouldnāt trust their ability to wash laundry considering how dirty the locker room can be some days. The shampoo and soap provided are not labeled, but thatās ok I used my own anyway. The hand dryers in the womenās locker room are ātemporarilyā out of order, and someone scratched it out and wrote permanently because itās been months and theyāre still not fixed. And donāt get me started on the amount of chlorine in the water. Even after 2 showers, I still smell like chlorine for days. Iām definitely telling my friends to not sign up for membership and to not sign up for swim lessons because their children are all under 12. I was going to sign my child up for lessons next month after our vacation, but Iāll go back to Kingās swim academy instead. At least their facilities are clean. Donāt waste your money on a gym that doesnāt follow their own policies. When I signed up, the salesman didnāt say that I couldnāt have my child watch me swim while sitting in the stroller. I would never have given them a penny. The people at the checkin counter certainly never said anything about it, and instead waved hello to my child. The personal trainers didnāt say a thing when they saw us. Edit: I did what they asked and contacted them on their website. Itās been 3 weeks with no response. Thatās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible servicing time frame on the broken equipment!!@@ its been months with broken Equipment. The inner the thigh machine has been broken for months with no fix date . They always give an excuse about the part being on order. However, this is just not acceptable. A so-called parts order company that can't actually get parts to you ??? If that were true, then a manager should do his job and get a different parts company to send the part necessary . TWO months + is unacceptable, especially because it's a popular machine, and unlike many gyms, they only have ONE . This is a consistent problem in the Redwood City location. Other machines have completely cracked vinyl to the point of cutting yourself on it when trying to use it . The bathroom is also pretty dirty, and i find myself letting staff know to refill soaps or clean water and paper towels up . They also are geared twords heavier lifting weights and don't even have one 25 lb weight bar ( only a 20 too light or 30 too heavy). I've reccomend/requested several times to get a 25 lb as that's a good weight for most women to use . It's very disappointing not to have them listen to customs/members. It's seems like they may be facing some sort of financial issues as things at that location are sub par compaired to other locations. It's making me want to discontinue my membership. If your close to other locations like Mountain Vew or Sunnyvale your better off going there . Redwood City is really lacking in working equipment and management. And it's very crowded a lot so it's difficult to get on popular machines. Hence, the reason they should be more organized with fixing the equipment in a reasonable time frame. (Not months at a tine) ... They get your membership than ignor the members and the...
