I’m disappointed that a member of our community would not do their fact checking before they posted a review of one of Redwood City’s educational opportunity sites. I absolutely support that everyone is entitled to their opinion when they post. But facts should be an important part of the comments . The Domini Hoskins Black History museum and Learning Center located on 890 Jefferson Av in RWC CA is one of the most comprehensive collection of Black history you will see in all of San Mateo county . Thank you Senator Becker and Supervisor Ray Mueller for believing in the importance of this history being on display for us to experience and learn from . Thank you Carolyn Hoskins for being the driving force that never gave up. You continue to inspire all who visit the museum . Your enthusiasm, warmth and kindness to all who enter and the amazing learning opportunity is what keeps us revisiting . Read moreThis is a great Bay Area hidden secret. This place is an endeavor of love by Carolyn Hoskins who founded and filled a centrally located educational center that operated as a pop-up venue until 2023. Kudos to San Mateo county and senator Josh Becker for helping to fulfill a dream.
The museum is a plethora of artifacts and representations of Black History and the contributions of African Americans throughout the American experience. The message is uplifting with many surprises along the way.
The museum is grounded in the community, sponsoring toy drives, workshops, Halloween parties, Black History Month festivities and more.
