I like the library but I did not like the Clifford event that they had for kindergarten students. It’s was ridiculous that they would put kids that are not in kindergarten aside. These are children! Not adults! So putting the ones that are not in kinder aside is ridiculous and hurt their feelings. I saw several children at the even sad because they kept telling them they can’t get anything because they’re “not in kinder.” If that was the case then the even coordinators SHOULD HAVE CORDINATED WITH SCHOOLS TO BRING THE KIDS THAT ARE IN KINDER ONLY! Where they’re the only ones at the event! Not make it open to parents to bring their families to where their other children will feel sad and cry because they are being put aside for not being in kindergarten....

1* Today is July 5, 2021. While the San Mateo County has moved beyond the COVID-19 color-coded-tier blueprint and most businesses have reopened without mask restrictions, all of Redwood City's public libraries still remain closed for seating. No furniture in place (tables and chairs) to sit and do work.

4* Helpful staff. They pick up the phone and help. Although I cannot speak for the volume of calls pre-pandemic.

2* Parking lot charges for parking and is limited; also true within the neighborhood.

*1 Phone greeting needs to be accurate. It says "we're open," so a friend paid for parking and went inside to do homework only to find out there are no...

Staff here is very rude. I was studying minding my own business and they passive aggressively told me I would not “like” to sit at a certain table. They can easily just ask me to move and I would have. I was fine because I was just studying. Then every five minutes they come and talk to me about my poor seating choices because they were moving things where I was sitting. I could not care less but they KEPT on TALKING TO ME every 5 minutes. They don’t take the hint when you are studying and try to talk to you constantly. Staff even called me “young lady” demeaningly. Anyways the library always has homeless men trying to talk to me so I would not go...

Beautiful library. Settled in an old style building. Vast and spacious. The interior was warm and cozy. We mainly visited the kid section, so that area was a bit busier than the rest of the library. The other part was so quiet that you can hear the sounds of footsteps or page turning. The kid section was huge and had a lot of books catering to different age groups. They also have an activity area and tech tables where children can use iPads or computers for free.
