I don’t know what’s going on at Embarc as a whole, but the staff has low morale or something going on because last month I went to the Embarc (ordered ahead through the website), to pick up in San Bruno, and before payment, I stayed in the pick up line longer than the regular line customers that had higher priority. (New policy? No, just bad management and cranky employees.) I have asked the person behind the counter if I still had my military discount and I was told yes, but after I paid, I checked my receipt and my discount was not applied because the person behind the counter forgot to apply it to my account. They told me sorry, nothing they can do about it and they dismissed me like a disposable napkin. A human error, no biggie. I forgave. I’ll double check next time.
But today, when I went to Redwood City for another pick up for ordering online, the regular line customers were served FIRST, while the folks (including myself) in the ordered ahead were still in line. And there were 4 cashiers. Whats the point of ordering ahead? I say, don’t bother, regardless what form that you order, management and/or staff won’t process the pick up orders quicker. You’re still going to have to wait. I waited 15-20 mins, what a joke. On top of that, somehow, I wasn’t checked in properly where I had to go back to the entrance and get rechecked in again. The system won’t let me purchase anything without being checked in at their front lobby computers. Luckily, Jaden told me that I don’t have to get back in the line again and apologized for all the chaos. It’s definitely not Jaden’s fault, 120% blame on management for dropping the ball, regardless if it’s a holiday. 420 is everyday in this business.
Thankfully, a staff member named Jaden was super cool and chill to take care of me when I was left hanging as I watched regular line customers get served faster than a line at Chik-Fil-A, while the pick up line stood around like mannequins at a Macy’s store. I felt like I was in the wrong line and the wrong timeline. What is going on? And I wasn’t even high. Haha
Everyone that works at Embarc have sour puss faces like they dread coming in but only put up with that place because of the employee discounts. I remember when everyone at all dispensaries used to be cool when everyone was high at work, but when the “no getting high at work policy” kicked in due to insurance and liability and legal reasons, around the same time weed became more legalized, staff people became irate and frustrated with the public.
A HUGE shout out to Jaden for helping me out, everyone else looked like they were at their wits end for the day. I didn’t get mad and I didn’t argue with anyone, I was just let down with the store chain as a whole. Originally I gave Embarc 5 stars years ago, I brought it down to a 1 due to how stressful and inefficient it is to just buy weed at Embarc like going to a DMV. But Jaden brought my star rating back up to a 2.
Anyways, if there’s anyone to blame, it’s myself for coming back when the service keeps going lower and lower in all Embarc stores. Management and HQ need to focus on the service, let the employees smoke again, and give...
Read moreI had a really disappointing experience at Embarc. One of the staff members at the store initiated a personal conversation with me, invited me to meet up later that night to “smoke with her friends.” I went — I agreed. However, when I showed up downtown around the time she mentioned, the manager confronted me and accused me of being on private property — and I was shocked to learn I had been given a lifetime ban.
I wasn’t causing any trouble; I was just following up on an invitation from one of their employees. The situation was handled very unprofessionally, I was made to feel humiliated and confused. I used to enjoy shopping here, but after this experience, I can’t recommend it. Management seriously needs to review how their staff interacts with customers and how they handle misunderstandings like this. I was just following up on what their employee asked me to do, and somehow I’m the one punished. That’s not how a professional business should treat a loyal customer. (We strive to ensure a safe and respectful environment) Is a Straight up Lie, Your "Owner" encourages power tripping.. after lying about owning the "private property" private property is not necessarily owned by a single person. after giving me a Lifetime ban the "fake owner" walked back into the store. Shaked his tongue at me taunting me. That individual should be removed from the company Asap.. Despicable Behavior. Even the security guard had to apologize on his behalf. Just for human decency.. Embarc Should be called "We abuse the Public and put the blame on you" is a better fitting name. That man is clearly unstable he enjoys harassing the public and apparently I'm not the first person he's done this to. now they will pretend to cover up with fake smiles. Please Just learn to respect the Public. Fix the Corruption. I did not Feel safe . . Thank...
