This is one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants every time we get together in San Mateo. It's in Redwood city. The only thing negative about this place is to find a parking space. Most of the street parkings are closed off due to being worked on. I had to park 2 long blocks away and walk in the cold and light rain LOL.

Anyhow, the restaurant is nice, high ceiling and quite big. The hosts are quite pleasant and helpful. We had to wait for all members of our party showed up to be seated even with reservation. The place is quite noisy from birthday parties to just plain get together like ourselves.

The appetizers are quite tasty, we liked the nachos, guacamole, very rich and filling. The chips are light and crispy with 3 dipping salsa dishes. My Margarita was quite good although they only offer on rocks and not blended.

Let me warn you, the dinner plates are very big, if you have the appetizer, it's better to order a la cart instead of the whole combo plates of any kind. You'll be taking some home for lunch the next day.

I ordered the fish taco plate, the fish wasn't breaded fried, not crispy like some other restaurants, but with all the veggies, quite tasty and no fish smell. The rice and beans were great, but it's big so I took the rest home for lunch.

Everyone in my family ordered different plates and they're all huge and delicious from wet burritos, shrimps, salads, etc.

The prices are a little high, average $30 a plate, but for the restaurants atmosphere, the area, I think it's reasonable. The important thing is the service is attentive, fast, pleasant and the foods are excellent, except the walk back to our cars on the street.

I've been here twice and I do like it. We'll always come here if Mexican...

Quinto Sol is a remarkable destination for those seeking an elevated Mexican culinary experience. From the moment you step inside, the lavish décor and carefully curated ambiance captivate your senses. The interiors seamlessly blend traditional Mexican artistry with contemporary elegance, creating an inviting yet luxurious atmosphere perfect for any occasion.

The food at Quinto Sol is nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish is a testament to authenticity and flavor, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The enchiladas were an absolute standout—perfectly balanced with tender fillings and rich, flavorful sauces that left us wanting more. Their use of cherished family recipes, particularly their grandmother’s specialties, adds a personal and heartwarming touch to the menu that is simply unparalleled.

A delightful highlight was the trio of salsas served with crispy chips. While all were flavorful, the green salsa stood out as a revelation—vibrant, fresh, and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. It alone is worth the visit!

The restaurant's cleanliness and upkeep are impeccable, further enhancing the dining experience. However, parking can be a bit challenging, so plan accordingly.

Overall, Quinto Sol is a must-visit for its unparalleled blend of authentic flavors, stunning ambiance, and exceptional service. A true masterpiece in...

Such a huge disappointment from a restaurant we usually love. My wife and I decided to order from here for our wedding anniversary because of the great experiences we've had in the past. With Covid we decided to place an order for pick up and my wife ordered the shrimp enchiladas. My biggest mistake was not checking the order before leaving. When I got home, we realized we were given a container filled with just sauce and some shrimp floating in it. I called the restaurant and explained the error and they said they could prepare another and it would be ready in about ten minutes. I explained I was further away than that but they didn't seem to care. I drove back to the restaurant and was handed the food and before I could even say anything the employee walked away. I waited in line to speak with a manager and I was told "your foods all good." I explained my food was currently sitting at home getting cold while I came to get this food. I was told "sorry about that but you are all good now." I asked if there was anything that could be done and did not recieve and answer and was just told again that I was all good now. Very clear whoever I was speaking to didn't care about what I had to say. Once the mistake was fixed my wife said her food was alright but my food definitely didn't taste great after having to...
