Fair Oaks Community Center — Attraction in Redwood City

They do help community wide,and support the area locals. But sometimes staff treat non-latinos at arms length. I know they deal with all sorts of individual s with a variety of issues, but I've noticed, they selectively will go further with assistance towards Latinos. I am Latino,but of lighter complexion, I'm assumed to be white. But when they see my last name and I.D. THEN they become more helpful.. Not bitter or slamming them, just stating, if your there to help all who need service, shouldn't you serve EVERYONE as equal people who are in the same boat? They have a hard job and I DO commend them on choosing a career that doesn't have alot accolades, and they continue to...

Don't waste your time inquiring about renting out space at this location for an event. Just to see the space you have to deal with Hector the facilities manager. He would rather socialize outside with his coworkers than help you out.

Red flag #1 no other employees can show you the space...

#2 no one at the facility wants to help you out and are too busy socializing amongst themselves and playing on their cell phones

3 this is not a desirable location to have an event. Too many other problems will likely occur from the people that hang out...

This place takes advantage of the less fortunate and uneducated so if you deal with these people and your not white be prepared to protect yourself never trust smiling faces they are smiling for a reason..and they will make you feel like they helped when in reality they need you more then you need them..its political not for the people..thats the facts..protect your family cause no one else will your just paperwork and a...
