I'll start by saying that the burrito wasn't bad. I did thoroughly enjoy the authentic Mexican rice in the burrito (tasted just like my grandma's). But my burrito was supposed to be Chorizo, and it tasted like regular American style sausage.
In addition, I asked the lady at the counter for a burrito with Chorizo, egg, and cheese. When I got my burrito there was no cheese. So I go up to the counter and politely tell her I asked for cheese and got none. She tells me I'm wrong that only on one of our burritos did we ask for cheese. I'll be honest here. I started to get annoyed. (This was after having a difficult time ordering - the music is BEYOND loud. And after having to smell pinesol - they wiped the floor before and while we were trying to eat. That's disgusting. Try eating something while all you can smell is pinesol...). So I was a little more rude in saying that I wanted cheese. But still. I told her I would pay the $0.50 to have it on the side. She goes and gets it and refuses my money, then yells "sorry!" at me very rudely.
We definitely won't be back during our trip. It was just okay taste wise. Still searching for the best breakfast burrito...
Read moreThis place restored my husband's and my faith in Mexican food. We come from Singapore with pretty dismal choices for decent Mexican food so I tried this with no expectations.
However, I was really, truly blown away by not just the size but the astounding quality of my order! The wet burrito was SUPER loaded with ingredients and the green salsa hit the spot as the burrito skin soaked up its goodness. The chimichanga was the real winner here as I was truly surprised by how BIG it was! The sour cream complemented the salsa very well. There were huge chunks of cheese nicely folded into the flour base and the only gripe I had was that it was too sinfully calorific as it was huge and fried. It was very oily and I was already plenty full from eating the filling only.
We could not finish our meals at all and I think one main + one side would be just nice for a couple to share. It has been 3 weeks since we ate here and my husband is still wistfully reminiscing the awesome Mexican food we got. Pity that the branches are only around the bay area and...
Read moreWith a 30 Minute lunch break starting at 6:20 pm, I called and placed an order for a super burrito. I arrived at 6:35 pm and waited patiently till 7:10 pm, my meal was still not ready. Keep in mind that my lunch time had been totally exhausted at this point in time but I knew a had a little lee way since it was the late shift and that the restaurant was busy. At 7:10, I couldn't wait any longer as I had exceeded my lunch time by 10 mins. I quietly explained to the lady at the register that I had to leave and I needed a refund. She was irate and angrily shoved my money in my hands with total disregard for my time and with no empathy. I walked away as it will serve no purpose going back and forth with her. The manager was right there on the grill and acted as if he was not aware of what was going on. With that said, I will never be going back there. I went to the smaller Mexican restaurant a block down on Maple and got a quick and courteous service and still went back to work. i was lucky I was not needed for any...
