Ellies Chainsaw Art Gallery — Attraction in Reedsport

This is absolutely the WORST business I have ever encountered in the entire state of Oregon throughout my life here. I purchased over $500 worth of carvings, including a large dolphin statue. Within 3 days it had developed a large crack, moving up the side. Within a few weeks, as the wet wood dried, the cracks turned into large, gaping divides that aren’t repairable & changed the entire piece. If it was repairable I would have made the repairs myself with resins & revarnished it. I live in another state and called with the concern’s immediately, hoping they would help, to which they told me to fix it myself. After paying hundreds of dollars all I received was a massive, broken & damaged project followed by a rude, dismissive, & insulting response from the business that sold it to me. Due to limited means to get the massive statue back to Oregon, I waited and thought perhaps if they saw firsthand what happened to their product they sold, that they would remedy the problem. Unfortunately, instead, I was greeted with slander & insults, insisting that I was the problem and that they “will not be doing anything but keeping my money.” The woman that runs this place is emotionally and mentally unstable & pushes her political agenda on you the entire time you're there, insisting you “take off that stupid mask! (in 2020 when they were required) and that “Trump is a genius & king!” She’s a complete loose cannon & I would highly recommend to never spend a dime towards this sort of company, as there are many more talented local wood carvers & artists that have integrity with their products & services & you will be able to take pride in where you put your support in these wonderful communities along our Oregon coast. Please, if you care about the integrity & the future of prosperous communities, put places such as this out of business. Direct your money towards supporting the honest, hardworking & talented artists that are running their businesses, sharing their talents & gifts with integrity & the pride of great craftsmanship. Ellie does some amazing work. The main Street of Reedsport is lined with her creations. You can stop at the shop and get some up close pictures or even purchase some of the chainsaw art. Most days when you go by you can get lucky and watch her in action creating these masterpieces. She's extremely nice and informative ready to answer any questions you may have. Well worth the visit!
