Highwater Cafe and Market — Restaurant in Reedsport

The food was basic, average, generic and overpriced. I got attitude when I asked for salsa for my small overpriced breakfast burrito and was then handed a packet of Cholula. I had asked specifically before ordering if it came with salsa and I was told yes, but then received instead a packet of hot sauce. The girl with the attitude then said they had a house salsa for their salads after i questioned them about it and was told it was $1.50. REALLY. You tell me it comes with salsa then don't provide salsa with your burritos other than a cheap generic packet and want to charge me extra for what you said came with the burtito? The "BIG BREAKFAST BURRITO" that was actually very small. And then there was the tiny overpriced overtoasted avocado toast for $10. I was then curtly directed to the "condiments" behind me after commenting on the quality and value for what was offered. Also had given a nice tip before receiving our meal, and our name was called from the counter to come pick up our order. I mean really, you can't even bring it to the table? Poor overall service and experience. No thanks, not from around here so not coming back but...

We live in Florence but travel to Reedsport to "shop" the House of Dank cannabis dispensary. A while back we noticed a new café a few doors down from the dispensary - The Highwater Café and Market - and we decided to give it a try. We're glad we did. We were thrilled to find this gem of a place in the perennially rough and ready town of Reedsport (which in many ways looks like a town that time has forgotten, particularly business investors. But it appears that may be changing. The folks at the Highwater were fine and friendly hosts. We were impressed by the menu and the food was delicious. We hope this trend continues in Reedsport. It is in a beautiful part of the world and it's nice to finally see people investing in something innovative - which appears to be the case in the downtown area of Reedsport -- with its newer brewpub, art galleries and the Highwater Café and Market (and of course don't forget Oregon's finest - and least pretentious - cannabis dispensary - The House of Dank). Pretty yummy but very very inconsistent in portion size. The only consistency is that you'll spend a lot and still be hungry! They keep raising prices but giving less and less. I've gotten avocado toast from here multiple times and the toppings are super stingey and the bread? Sometimes it's a full size, other times its one of the slices cut into two. I honestly can't believe for how affluent this place looks and charges that they can't get their food quality to be good consistently.

The service can be a bit immature and have attitude but friendly for the most part.

If it wasn't for their fancy building fooling people into thinking the food is worth the $$, no one around Reedsport would be paying these prices.

I love the creativity of their menu but wish they'd spend more money caring about customers and less making themselves look fancy. Owners, if you're reading this, please adjust your portions so you customers are remotely full after spending...
