i went to this place for my broken laptop because of all the wonderful reviews! unfortunately, i had nothing but a horrible, disrespectful experience that even shocked my friends who work in IT. i honestly don’t know what about me or my laptop did to receive this treatment especially since everyone else seems to have a great experience. but if you see this, i strongly recommend you go somewhere else for repair especially if you’re a woman or visibly queer. i dropped off my laptop the tuesday before fourth of july weekend. from the get go, the employees seemed flippant of my concerns. i thought it had something to do with the dc power jack, but they were so convinced it was the power adapter that i had to make a comment about being willing to pay them to open the laptop and make sure. this prompted the employee to immediately flip the laptop over and open it, and then wiggle the power jack as if to prove to me im wrong. granted, i dont know anything about computers, that’s why i went here, but this was just after telling them that i had already bought a second power adapter to test that same theory. i offered to leave my accessories and replacement adapter while they looked at it, but he was insistent he didn’t need my things. okay. two days later they called me and bashfully asked me to drop off my adapter because they could not find another one that fit, and they had been unable to do anything to it without the charger. okay. after i did that, they told me they wouldn’t be able to even look at it until the following monday because they were closed the next day for fourth of july. so five days went by without them even having a close look at it. after that, it felt like i was playing phone tag trying to figure out what was going on with my laptop. i would call to ask for updates, be told they had to ask each other and they would call me back, and then they just wouldn’t call me for days until the cycle continued. finally one of the other techs told me that it was an issue with the motherboard, and if they couldn’t get the right part to fix it, he said he was happy to transfer my data onto an external harddrive. perfect! i have one of those! the part and the fix ended up being out of our budget, which is not a problem at all. i would just rather put that money toward a new pc. but when i finally went to get my laptop, now at the end of the month and with my harddrive, i asked if they would still recover my data. in response, the employee set my naked removed hard drive from the laptop in front of me and said “There’s your data right here.” and again, i dont know anything about computers, so to me it was like he just placed a random part in front of me. i honestly was so shocked at this response. i know it was not the employee who offered to save my data originally, but it felt like a slap in the face after a month of being strung along. luckily i DO have friends in IT who do know what part he gave me and can help me get my data from it. but i essentially paid and waited a month to be told to get lost. at this point i was so exhausted of the whole experience i just took my things back and left. i did my best to be respectful despite my frustration. i really don’t think i was being a Karen to this shop, but i guess they disagreed. nevertheless i still feel like i need to warn others and share my experience. if you can, go literally anywhere else.

Very friendly and fair prices, I would have happily paid 2-4 times as much as I did, if it had worked. However, I paid $550 to get rid of rootkit malware that instantly came back when it was reconnected to my network. When I called, I was told that the Malware that was detected by Malwarebytes was completely normal & that I was being overly cautious. That problem has only escalated, so I’d say that statement is highly inaccurate. Now it’s crippled 3 laptops, an all in one computer, an Orbi router, an iPhone, 3 androids, 2 tablets, 6 tvs, 7 alexas, a printer, a ring doorbell, my GMC, & possibly some other iOT devices. If your malware resides in the Uefi or Bios, you might as well light your house on fire… Or find someone who will investigate when you mention that it keeps your printer busy so it can generate authenticator tokens. (Print Nightmare perhaps?) I get that I’m not important enough to hack this hard, but somehow- I can’t even take a break to watch tv anymore. Log4j & other destructive pieces of code only take a few clicks & are monsters to get rid of; so it’s not like some human is as busy as I am, destroying my life a little more each passing day. I’ve tried to convince myself that I was crazy, but all the devices around me wouldn’t play along. TVs won’t let us open apps like YouTube, or if I get into Hulu, I can’t hit play, or the service will say it has no network when the network settings & the router say otherwise. My favorite tv won’t even let me relogin to Samsung so I can reinstall apps. Microsoft apps crash, so nobody can use Word for reports, resumes, therapy, etc. All my bank accounts detected weird purchases (I don’t know more, cause I can’t log in.) So they’ve cancelled my cards & I have no way to pay my bills until the cards arrive. I can’t log into Verizon to straighten things out, when I called them, they said they’d call me back, but never did- 3 times. Every browser gets redirected to a handful of different websites like spectrum.s3.amazonaws.com or mmechocaptiveportal.com so I blocked those websites on the router. That’s why Alexa displays Website blocked by firewall. Laptops & computers won’t get past the boot menu, an error occurs that prevents me from resetting. I’m not the only one enduring this, I straight up have upset daughters asking for my help, or yelling out of frustration. Thankfully this contributed to my husband leaving 😜 so there is one tiny bright spot. You tell me who to call, and if they set me straight, your 2-stars will turn to 5. I get that I’m a lot right now, I can’t even stand me…

Brought in my pretty nice HP Laptop with a bad screen on Sunday. Peter was extremely helpful and courteous, left Laptop. Jeff called me around 10:30AM Monday morning, it was already done with upgraded (matte) screen replacement. Works perfect, these guys are all about what they are doing, Computer Repair and Super Nice Customer Service.

One word ... AWESOME ... AMAZING ... REMARKABLE ... OUTSTANDING!!! Okay four words. Reno Computer Fix is all these. My system crashed on Saturday at 3:20 pm. After having a heart attack (as I was in the middle of doing homework and realized I would have to create about 25 hours of homework for 4 classes) I called Reno Computer Fix. They have fixed my 8 year old laptop before. They closed at 4pm, but told me to come down and they would look at it for me even though I wouldn't get there until 4. Ian and Natalie were AWESOME!!! They stayed 3.5 hours giving up their plans on a Saturday night. They were able to retrieve all my homework (priority at the time), and all my other documents, pictures, and God knows what else I have stored on my hard drive. I have used other places before with minimal expectations and that is what I got, minimum customer service. So when I went to Reno Computer Fix, they blew me away with their friendly, amazing customer service, SUPER LOW prices, willingness to go above and beyond anything and everything to get me back up and running. They are honest and told me exactly what I needed (or in this case, didn’t need), they found the lowest prices for what I needed, they didn’t try to up sell me on anything I didn’t need or want, but gave me options in our discussion only because I was interested, but still provide quality parts, WITH A GUARANTEE. I will NEVER take my computer issues to anyone else EVER!!!! And I learned when I do buy a new computer they can take all the sales crap off of it that the stores put on for promotions. Highly...
