If only the parents could read the clearly visible signs telling which ages of children go on which play equipment, I saw infants being thrown into a dangerous gauntlet from which there was little chance of survival or coming out unscaved with a severe concussion or broken limb, the way they design playground equipment today is seriously not very well thought out, it seems that in an effort to be modern and so space-age and futuristic they've designed everything to where it's 10 times more dangerous than it was when we were children when everything was simple and made out of metal and for some reason they decided that was old-fashioned when in actuality it was much much safer then they designed that they have all these these things that look like they should be something out of American Ninja Warrior for your toddler no please go back to the way it was and stop trying to make everything better because it was you can't reinvent the wheel if it ain't broke don't fix it cuz the only thing broke now is the children's legs because they're falling and they can't get a good grip on these little bars that you call stairs brake...

We ate birthday cake on a park table while watching a mother duck in the lake teach her ducklings how to make the best of their environment, and avoid trouble with those grumpy geese. 🤗 Arts Festival was just getting underway across the lake. We all felt safe with the subtle but very important police presence (given the societal violence currently being committed). 🏃♂️The officers dressed in civi jogging gear. Only their protective vests gave away their true identities. They blended-in (undoubtedly intentionally) with other active walkers. I never felt like they were intruding too much for us to continue enjoying ourselves. In fact, given how the Frisco Fair was cancelled 6 days earlier due to ongoing reports of violence at or near the event, I was relieved to have the police presence in the beautiful Cottonwood Park.
3 days after my birthday in this wonderful park, only 16 miles and 20 minutes up the road, a crazed shooter killed 8 people in the Allen...
Read moreWe came here to check out the new inclusion park and were not disappointed. The structure is massive. Big enough that it's hard to keep eyes on multiple kids at the same time, especially if the park is busy (it was when we went). It is fenced in, with a fence that is not easily escapable for young children and there was lots do for kids of all ages and abilities.
There was also a bathroom with an adult changing station right next to the park, a covered pavilion, and nice river with ducks, and a swimming pool (we went on a rainy day and pool was closed, so I'm not sure if it changes the dynamic of the park when it's open) but we found the park to be great. The equipment is new, nice, and fun. Lots of things to play with. Roller slides so they don't get so hot, different kinds of swings, a soft cushion ground surface.
My six year old and three year old loved it. (Neither are special needs, but the features here looked like they would be great for all levels and...
