Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Richardson

Wednesday Sep 14 around 7p.m I made a decision to revisit this place because when I first had it a week ago I absolutely loved the grilled chicken! It was pouring outside so i decided to wait in the car for the rain to simmer down, ten minutes later I go inside had to wait in a long line for about 15 minutes because there was only one register availabe. When finally my turn to order what i had been craving and what made me come back to this place the grilled chicken. Well i come to find out there system is down and they were only accepting cash! I only had my Debit card with me on top of that the lady tells me they had ran out of the grilled chicken because they just had a big order, and it would be like 40 minutes for them to have grilled chicken available! Seriously I couldn't believe this nonsense! First of all I wouldn't have wasted 15 minutes in line if they only had the courtesy to let the customers know that they weren't even accepting cards at the moment but no! So disappointed and upset not just that my time was wasted but the fact that they were out of grilled chicken. I then had to sadly leave not willing to wait 40 minutes! I hope whenever i decide to go back they would have...

Fantastic food but horrible service. That sums up all my visits to this place. For example, yesterday afternoon, I placed an online order for grilled chicken with sides of plantain and mashed potatoes to be picked up at drive thru. When I drove 5-miles to pick my food up and went to the drive through. No one was there to attend. After waiting for a few minutes, I parked my car and went inside. I was told that the speaker in drive thru wasn't working. Then I was told that they were out of plantains. I switched my side. Once that taken care of, I was told they were out of grilled chicken and I had to wait for 20 minutes. I asked them to give me fried chicken.

So the only thing I got right was mashed potatoes. That kind of service is why I keep going to other chicken places despite food being excellent at Pollo Campero. What's the use of food being good if you aren't going to get whay you want?
