1213 Hair Studio - Richmond, VA — Attraction in Richmond

I am SO SO SO ecstatic I found 1213 when I moved back to Richmond from California in 2019. Somehow I got extremely lucky finding Joy at this treasure of a salon.

Joy is truly a hair magician both with cut and color. She is a visionary when it comes to all things hair and has gotten me in a place where I love my hair. She is knowledgeable, respectful, beyond talented, dynamic, kind, and really listens to what you want.

I also appreciate her feedback when I have “a bright idea” that may not be the best for me- she’s talked me out of a couple of ideas for my hair that would not have been the best- I’m glad I listened to her - it takes a REALLY special soul to trust with your hair and when you find that person, you would/will do anything to not let that connection go- and that person is Joy for me. She has also been super beyond helpful when I have chosen to make those box color impulsive decisions and helped me understand the cons there, but never has judged.

Aside from her masterful creativity, Joy is just an all around awesome human being. Richmond is beyond blessed to have this gemstone and 15/10 would recommend trusting her...

I started going to 1213 hair studio a little over a year ago after I found Britny on Instagram. She was so easy and lovely to talk to from the start and scheduling with her for my first color appointment was so smooth compared to other hair studios I tried reaching out to.

Britny gave me a great first consultation and helped me understand what was and was likely not attainable with bleaching my hair, considering how dark it was, and the final result I ended up with was beyond my expectations and I’ve been so grateful to have Britny doing my hair ever since.

She is so easy to talk to and she is a great listener, all said she’s just fun to be around, so I always look forward to my appointments.

WhenI learned she doesn’t do haircuts too I was so disappointed, but she was happy to give me a referral to someone else at the studio.

Britny is incredibly professional and takes her job and her impact on her customers very seriously, and I appreciate how valuable her time is. She helps me feel my most beautiful and I truly can’t recommend her...

I had a doozy couple of salon experiences at one place over the winter that cost me a ton of hair in terms of length due severe damage. I think I was up to 8-10 inches lost by my last cut but it’s finally feeling better. Anyway after all that happened I’ve just been miserable I haven’t had much length! I set out to find someone (I’m near Petersburg) who can install extensions (and not be at the salon that wrecked my hair). Eventually I found this place! It’s a 35 minute drive for me. I love how Ashley did my hair! It was quite pricey since I have SO much hair but well worth it! Ashley put in 7 wefts of hair in 2 rows, and she color matched perfectly. For those that don’t know, THAT IS A LOT of hair. Naturally my thickness is like equivalent to the hair of two people, for perspective. Anyway, I love it. I’m extraordinarily happy with my hair for the first time in years. I couldn’t think of a single negative or poor critiquing comment! Thank you!!
