this dog has gotten off the leash and is running a muck! I fell in love with City dogs a few years ago when I was driving for a ride-sharing company. the dogs were always of the highest quality always piping hot and with just the right amount of condiments. recently over my past 4 to 5 visits this has not been the case. outside of the fact that there was a gentleman who seemed like the owner was always there when I visited for my "afternoon fix" he took up four to five seats at the bar area with his computer and all kinds of other things sitting around. this is just to note poor customer service. in addition to that I would often see him ask other guests "are you okay?" "can i get you anything else?" and literally look me in my face like I was a lost hot dog and turn the other way and not speak. With that said today was probably my deciding day June 3rd 2019 that I would not return to City dogs I was SOLD a lukewarm dog on an unsteamed cold bun by an employee who stated "my life is a f_$#ing mess" out loud in front of a customer, an excessive amount of relish so much so that I could barely taste the dog all I tasted was the condiment. so with that said this is my final review after visiting this restaurant for over 5 years. I believe that with some menu changes and other things that they have going on , they are on a downhill slope. hopefully they can get themselves back on track and get this dog...
Read moreI went to City Dogs on Monday (9/1) with two friends. When we arrived, we were the only people in the place. We ordered food and drinks from the bartender, (Kim) and everything was fine at first.
As more people came in, I started chatting and making friends with them (two different groups, about 4 people total came in plus my 3 so 7 people total at 9pm — one of whom I already knew). To keep the energy up, I decided to order shooters for everyone.
When the bartender wasn’t behind the bar, I jokingly called out “bartender” in a playful manner because she wasn’t even behind the bar to hear me say it but the server on shift apparently took offense to that and told the bartender I should be cut off for being “rude.” That made no sense, since I wasn’t being disrespectful — I was just trying to have a good time and keep people engaged.
What’s even more confusing is that I still had a full beer in front of me. If I was “cut off,” why not take the beer you gave me The whole situation felt unfair and poorly handled. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, the staff made the night uncomfortable and killed the vibe completely.
Definitely not the place to go if you’re looking for good service or a fun night out
To make it far I still tip $20 on table to prove a point and was so frustrated I didn’t even want the food I order and wanted to throw it away because of the amount of...
Read moreThis was one of the most bizarre restaurant experiences I've ever had.
A couple of weeks ago, I'd have recommended this place, not for hot dogs, but but for hamburgers and fries. But then this happened . . .
Now let me preface this by saying they must have had a terrible experience with someone else who resembled me, because nothing else explains their behavior.
Just so you understand: a couple of weeks I'd been there before and some young people at the table next to me stiffed my waitress and I made a point of tipping her not only on my check, but on the check they'd walked out on.
Fast forward about two weeks. For about twenty minutes my waitress ignored me. She made it really obvious and I was about to leave when she finally talked to me. I ordered my regular order: a cheeseburger and fries. Now, typically, this order comes with a burger, fries, your choice of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.
My waitress returned after 15 minutes with an ice-cold, plain burger, no cheese, and my fries consisted of only the very ends of the French fries.
All of this was very deliberate, though it was never explained to me why. I used to be a regular, but I will never go there again.
Of, course this may be redundant, considering...
