Tech exchange is selling Pokemon cards that are so fake, I'm not even going to waste anyone's time saying why.
The person packing these five dollar bundles either doesn't know anything about PokƩmon or is negligently selling fake cards knowingly.
They also sell bootleg PokƩmon keychains. granted they sell them for a pretty cheap price and never said it was official, so I wouldn't say it's a scam or anything, but they are bootleg and unofficial.
Lastly, and this is getting more and more subjective, but a lot of their stickers are stolen art. I've bought the stickers too without really thinking, but the more you think about it, it does kind of suck.
Generally their video game prices are fair, it's not a malicious markup, it's just normal for a brick and mortar store.
The trade in prices are fine, they're trying to give you money no matter what so they're really saying "if we had to buy this from you this is all we could do based on the market and our likelihood to sell, our inventory of it etc"
Yeah we know how much you paid for that console, nobody's denying that dude but we already have like 10 of those
It's also not really the employees fault. They're all really nice, I used to go to the store a lot freshman year and I would overhear a lot of people getting mad as they were trading and stuff. It was very entitled and sounded stressful and unfair toward the employees. people didn't seem to understand the market.
As someone who works at a GameStop that is a high risk store and mainly gets trade-ins, I understand what it's like to get people in who really want money and get frustrated and angry at you for something you can't control.
Overall, it's a fun experience and if anything, I just found it funny because of how stupidly obviously fake the cards were. I just make fun of this place with my friend. These are five dollar items so nobody's gonna go into debt over it.
however, it would be nice if we could get that five dollars back and maybe get some real cards because they specifically guaranteed those full art/rares or whatever, and they were fake.
I did also have an experience once while I lost my expensive voucher and the employee took my word and wrote me a new one. So.... it's never black or white when it comes to a store. I think you'll be fine to buy video games from here and trade and stuff you don't need.
I promise you that these employees are trying their very best and are often so busy that something like two PokƩmon cards is easy to slip through
With that being said, I do think it's important to not mislead your customers, and self fake things, even if it helps a small business. doesn't matter if you were a mega corporation or a friend of mine who needed to pay their rent, I wouldn't appreciate being lied to. I'd rather just pay $5 extra for...

One of the standout qualities of Tech Exchange is the convenience it offers to customers. The store is well-organized, making it easy to navigate and locate specific items quickly. Additionally, the knowledgeable staff members are generally friendly and approachable, creating a welcoming environment for customers to browse and shop comfortably.
However, despite these positive attributes, The atmosphere at Tech Exchange to be somewhat lacking in terms of customer service. While the employees are generally friendly, there have been instances where they appear indifferent or uninterested in assisting customers with their specific needs. This can create a disconnect between customers and staff members, leading to a less-than-ideal shopping experience for some people
But overall Tech Exchange remains a great store for fulfilling your video game needs, offering a wide selection of products and a convenient shopping experience. While the atmosphere at the store may sometimes feel a bit off due to the perceived lack of enthusiasm from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk, i have a bone to pick with this place. I had stopped in a few times and their selection is better than average. However, their staff competence is severely lacking and their business model really screws over their customers. I wanted to trade in a excellent condition, complete in box, Legend of Zelda: A link to the past game for the SNES. We waited 20 minutes while the attendant fumbled with our item, saying he needed to call his boss. Finally he didn't even call and was just like, this is $20. I know this store would price this for sale at close to $150 in this condition in store. Thats $130 revenue (maybe their expenses really work that down, but thats bad business in itself). I then also read the other review where the staff ripped off another customer over a sealed Pokemon yellow game (read that review if you get a chance, the owners then berate him on Google). You really should treat your customers better. Try berating me, I'll post your response all over facebook and twitter!
But here is some good advice, always check the prices in store against sold listings on eBay. And always try to sell your items on eBay first, you will be pleasantly surprised how much more money you make off rare items. You can always trade in the unsellable items here for a few bucks, but it's not worth bringing...
