Reel Obsession Sportfishing — Attraction in Richmond

Spent the day with some good friends aboard the Reel Obsession out of Bodega Bay. The boat was roomy and comfortable for the 6 of us and our gear. We brought our own gear but we hardly touched it due to the quality of the rod and reels Captain Tyja had aboard. Normally I don’t touch boat rods and reels but Captain Tyja gear was top of the line and well maintained.

Captain Tyja started off our day by putting us on an awesome morning rockfish session. We were able to load up on big vermillion, lingcod, big black rockfish and a variety of rockfish. The crew was able to fill up the big cooler fast. Captain Tyja is very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas, he took care of our every need, and also safely released the small fish and fish we could not keep with a fish descender. What was really great was Captain Tyja properly bled and iced all our fish insuring we had great fish for the dinner table.

I assumed the trip was over but Captain Tyja said he wanted to send us home with King Salmon so we head off to a different location. Almost immediately after Captain Tyja set up the gear and sent the lines down we started to get into Salmon. It became insane on the deck with double, triple and quadruple hook ups. Captain Tyja coached us through all the madness that was happening. We all end the day with each of us taking home limits of salmon and some were monsters.

Had an absolutely fantastic time fishing salmon with Tyja last week. I've fished off a variety of big party boats and other 6 pack charters in the the past, but my two trips with Tyja so far have definitely exceeded expectations. Tyja knows this stretch of water so well that you can have confidence that if the fish are biting, he'll find them for you. This was the best fishing experience I've ever had on a boat in the Bay Area. The captain and crew were easy-going and extremely knowledgeable, making me feel like I was fishing with close friends. They guided us to great spots, and we caught our limit for the entire family.
