Our family went to see Jurassic World: Dominion July 3, 2022 at 3:10 pm. We got there and we had to check in inside. The only way to check in was to wait in the concession stand line. All the lines were almost out the door. My husband waited in line for us and went to the restrooms. By the time my husband go or receipts the movie had already started. When we got to our seat and sit down there was not air conditioning. It was so hot. We moved down to the front where the air was a little cooler. My daughter almost passed out it was so hot. I had to go get her a bag of ice to put behind her neck and my husband went to get her a drink My husband complained and he was told we could get a refund. We had driven over an hour to this theater. We watched the movie. When we left all our undergarments were wet from sweat. Everyone was complaining about the heat. The people that worked that said that they had turned down the air but that was all they could do. This was the first family out we had been on because our daughter had been in the hospital. It was ruined. I do not recommend this theater to anyone. The workers do no care about their customers. If the air was out it should have been moved to another theater. We were aslo suppose to have gotten a free small popcorn because we were members of the rewards program but we where charged for the popcorn as well. The Movie was great but do not waste your money at...

First of all, my husband checked movie times online. There was a 4:15 pm showing of Dungeons & Dragons. That was perfect.
When we got to the theater, the ticket booth was closed. We had to buy our tickets at concessions. There were 4 concession workers selling tickets and getting snacks for people.
We found out, then, that there was no 4:15 showing of the D&D movie. We had to opt for the 6:15 showing. Then we had to pick our seats. Our total was about $26.00.
Luckily, my husband and I found something to do to pass the time in Roanoke. I like Roanoke, I used to live here.
We went back to the concession stand to get snacks. We were told that the oven was down and we couldn't get the snacks we wanted. My husband and I ended up spending over $30.00 for 2 drinks, a big bucket of popcorn and M&Ms.
My gripe is not with the theater workers. They're probably grossly underpaid. My gripe is with whatever company owns Regal Crown Cinema. I'm sure this company received huge tax breaks for their losses during COVID and the aftermath. Now, I think, it's greed that is keeping theaters the way they are now. They are doing the bare minimum and charging exorbitant prices for it.
To the Regal Crown Cinema owner: you guys are killing the movie industry. I can watch movies at home and make my own...
Read moreThis theater had been our go to for big budget movies, as well as any movies we couldn't see at the local theater, however recently the whole experience has gone down hill. I like the idea of assigned seats, however the whole ticket buying process has grown very frustrating now that the box office has stopped being used. It takes a lot longer to wait in concessions lines to buy tickets, and it is also surprising that there is still only the one kiosk to self buy tickets. We could buy online ahead of time, but if you have a group going you have to order in one group to get seats together as well as pay service fees, not a great option. The last few times we have seen a movie here we arrived with as much time as we normally would before but now we would be getting our tickets at the show time. However, this leads to the other frustrating change, more commercials before trailers start. The last few movies there were new commercials that started at show time which then pushed the new trailers out another 5-10 minutes. All combined the actual movies didn't seem to start until 25-30 minutes after showtime. These changes combined with problems with sound quality in multiple recent movies has made us decide we will most likely only use this theater when we don't have another option. A real shame when we used to love...
