First and last black Fri experience. Had to go out to by a new phone and have been shopping for several months. Target repeatedly said verbatim in-store their $250 gift card promotion would be included if purchasing the phone without a contract. Was also told an additional $50 gift card would come with it.
The experience: Luckily, they had one phone left when I arrived. Brittany was very helpful to snatch it. First, I asked if the $250 gift card came with it. A "yes". She started to ask for carrier information but I was already asking if they were doing the additional $50 off or if that was only if I gave her carrier info. "No we are not doing that" and said something along the lines of different regions may have alternate promos. I patiently waited until check-out but it seemed Brittany was rushing to end the transaction. Was never told I would not receive a $250 gift card...WAS told I wouldn't receive a $50 due to their specific territory not offering that deal.
As I'm walking out I ask if the $250 gift card is in the bag and she said "That's why I asked your carrier". No, you never communicated to me that. When I spoke with Chris your 'manager' he even admitted Target had made a mistake by advertising the $250 with a no-contract phone but retracted it. If this went on than every single person should be informed of this error. Target falsely advertised and should responsibly correct that for the consumer whether it be verbally informing them of it before purchasing or offering them the deal because they assumed the customer knew the error.
Lastly, Chris did a good job in talking to me but took Brittany's side declining to offer the $250 card after the above experience. I strongly suspect he wasnt an actual manager, but perhaps he was new. Next year will be my 15th year working in customer service...9 years in retail/fine dining and nearly 8 in specialized medicine. Communication is the key. I wouldn't be writing this review if 1. the error was communicated and 2. the error that wasn't communicated was corrected by the manager.
Afterall it's Thanksgiving and I've much better things to do :) I trust Target will take measures to prevent future...
Read moreI’d give them 0 stars if I could… I ordered towels and bath mats off of a friends wedding registry to pick up. I picked the order up got home and looked in the bag first towel I see has what looks like splattered spaghetti sauce on it ( so there’s no way whomever put this in the bag didn’t see it). I called they told me there was 3 left in store, and it’s not a quick seller so it should still be there when I return the towel. I asked if they could just hold one of them they said no we don’t do that…. So I drive all the way back …. Guess what no towels left…. The lady at the returns section didn’t seem to care didn’t even say we’re sorry for your store experience. I asked if she could correct the registry to show I only bought one towel…. She said I’d have to call in….. at this point I’ve had it I have to call in to get a mistake they made fixed….. that’s ridiculous. 3 customer service reps later, one really rude one who actually hung up on me, and I’m still on the phone waiting to get the registry issue fixed. I cannot believe this is how target allows their employees to...
Read more“Eric” in the Electronics section at this Target was super unhelpful. I went with my mother-in-law to shop for a new TV. While he made some effort to help us by pointing us to where the TVs are (although that’s not very hard to find..), he was pretty disinterested in explaining the difference between the TVs they had. She asked him basic questions about whether the TV would have certain streaming apps and he just shrugged and said he’s never used that TV. I was able to answer her questions just by googling the model of the TV, but I saw him basically ignore her and just scroll social media on his phone. When we chose the TV we wanted he said he’d need to get it from the back and it’d be a 30 min wait (crazy because it really wasn’t that busy). We ended up going to the Best Buy next door
That said he seemed like a decently nice guy but he definitely should not be in Electronics, maybe some other part of Target would be a better fit. If you’re going for electronics, probably better to go to Best Buy next door since their employees are better...
