I went to this place with 2 of my best friends because I saw the customer reviews were nearly at 5 stars and Because I'm new to fishing, and figured they'd help me choose the best items I needed as a beginner, I walked in and there were 2 people behind the counter, a young man and young lady which I had to say hellooo because the store looked empty and they were in the back of the store then proceeded to walk behind the counter, They were not very helpful and were very reluctant to leave from behind the counter to help me when I asked the young man to please come over and show me which rods were best for the price,. when I kept asking questions about Rods ( what size to buy, strength, which rods were better than others, etc) and accessories , needless to say their customer service was lacking tremendously, I was on my own basically, I managed to buy 2 rods on my own, both 12 footers, a tackle box and a few accessories, although I wasn't exactly sure if these items would meet my needs they seemed to be pretty well made so I made the purchase, upon checking out I asked the young man if there's anything else he'd recommend that I may need to which he just looked at my items and started charging my items, there was very minimal communication between them and I, They did answer 3 of my many questions though, The store its self seems to have everything a fisherman would need and the store is very well organized. however I left the store feeling that its a place where you have to know what you're getting already before you walk in, I work for the Hotel industry for 30 yrs now and I would never let my guest wander unknowingly without me offering them assistance, would I go there again? Probably not unless its absolutely necessary and I already know what I'm purchasing, Had they been helpful to me I would've given this...

with that being said, I shopped here plenty of times and it's just about the same every time, staff is condescending and pretentious but this was the tipping point. I was only assisted for less than about 5 min when the staff that was "assisting" me left for about 20 min before coming back. Anyway, I came in to look at some reels with a budget of $300 - $500 in mind. After looking at a specific reel for literally a couple minutes and waiting to be helped again I looked around the store again. When the staff did come back, I was already set on finalizing my pick when I asked to bring my rod in my car to make sure the reel size I wanted paired up nicely. Not even 30 secs I come back in and I overhear the staff talking along the lines of "someone" being "hesitant" to buy a reel and that he should just let it go and leave already. AGAIN, I WASN'T BEING HELPED FOR 20 MIN. They were pretty much taking jabs at me for whatever reason. I only figured it was about me b/c the $400-$500 price point that was brought up (I was literally the only person how asked about it there at that time) I thought it was interesting how fast the subject changed to âoh howâre you doing buddy!?â as if they thought I wasn't coming back. I'm guessing that's what some people do? Doesn't matter, I came in as an easy going and paying customer. After catching on quick to who they were talking about, I decided not to go with it and buy it from somewhere else.
Just do better. Not everybody that walks in is trying to...
Read moreI had the pleasure to attend the in-store fishing seminars yesterday. They offered 3 seminars and all of the speakers were top notch. I learned a lot and as an extra bonus, all day discounts and snacks/food was provided. What is there not to like?
In terms of the store, this is a mecca for all things fishing. Every staff member was attentive, professional and pro-active in asking if they can answer any questions. At the end, they all helped me a lot, answered all my questions and made excellent suggestions on what to buy. I can honestly say that my purchases will not be sitting on the shelf and rod rack but it will be used in my upcoming trips.
I want to give a special shoutout to Ms. Hansol. There is a saying that says first impressions matter. In this case, Ms. Hansol has the gift of hospitality and professionalism. Specifically, she went out of here way to make sure I (and about 40 other attendees) got the help needed and she helped make the entire day a great success. I must admit, it is refreshing to see people go the extra mile these days. Thanks.
FYI, if they offer another in-store seminar, sign up asap. I think it will be well worth your time. All the speakers were top notch. Needless to say, it's never too early to go shopping for your birthday. If this store does not stock what you're looking for you'll probably find it hard press to find it anywhere else.
Thanks again Team Tackle World. Well done, keep up...
