Went to go and use the showers here at the gym, and as far as I was made aware, that was allowed so long as it aren't excessive and didn't cause any issues or delays with others. I asked if there was a lost and found that I could check because I had a bag stolen from there recently and it was not the first time I had things go kissing while I was there. They politely pointed it out and when I did I deed find several of the items that had been taken from me (the more expensive of which were not in the lost and found box!) and when I asked if the coat rack was also on blost and found he became very offensive and angry. He then went to check to see if I had a membership, and of course it came up as negative (although it did sound like he called me Charles for whatever reason). He then accused me of having been in there many times in the past, which was untrue, as I had only been in once or twice prior to that. He then got extremely offensive and started yelling and threatening me. When I was told to leave I was telling him I was ready to do so, but I wanted to explain what was going on, and he became even more angry and even threatened me with legal action. I told him that I would grab the things that were mine from the lost and found box (a mayo water bottle and a broken leather belt being the only of those items inside the box itself that were mine, and the underamor bag and black coat left outside the box, as well as my military style/designed backpack which I had lost some time ago.) I left and then went back shortly to open the door to ask the young man's name so that only he could be in trouble and not any of the rest of the staff, which had all been really fantastic people and workers towards me prior. He refused, and then began throwing many rude gestures and taunting me through the windows and even appeared to be lieing about me to the other members/customers, as I heard a number of blatantly wrong statements from others that were in there during this time. I hate to leave such a poor review for such an excellent place, especially since it's just one very rude young man, but it only seems fair to make people aware of what happened. My life is hard enough as a homeless person without being harassed or discriminated against, just like this, yet it happens to me and so many others every single day, everywhere! I hope that something is isn't to correct this young man's behavior before it fouls up the reputation of such a fine establishment. I will return soon to try and report this issue, however I have so far been unable to get a hold of a manager, or even find a...
Read moreI recently switched to Iron Physique from the Rochester Athletic Club and so far have been very pleased with my decision to switch gyms. The variety of machines is much better than the RAC. For example, Iron Physique has several preacher curl machines, a standing lateral raise machine, a hack squat sled, standing calf raise machine, and many more not offered at the RAC. I typically workout between 430-6 and have no issue finding a bench press or squat rack, it doesn't get too crowded despite not being a massive space. The workout area stays pretty clean, and all the machines are in good shape minus the front pulldown machine (handles are messed up). Only reason I can't give 5 stars is the showers. They're honestly a little gross, tile is cracking, some mold or discoloration in the corners, and the drain cover doesn't even cover the drain. So there's just a hole in the ground the water goes down. I wouldn't go in there without flip flops for sure. I rarely shower at the gym though so this isn't a huge issue. They're not unusable, just reminds me of the showers in my freshman dorm at...
Read moreI just got a membership here and I love it! The staff is great, it's clean and the 24 hour access is great! The key fob is 100% worth it. I have not yet encountered any problems with too many people using the machines or not being able to get a squat rack or not having access to something I need. It is a very well equipped gym. I love the large amount of dumbells and the extensive range of machines. I've also noticed that all the members contribute to keeping things running smoothly. People are very respectful of the space and other members, put things back, clean the equipment, don't make excessive noise, re-rack their weights, etc. There are also lots of different people with different goals and experience! You do not have to be a lifting expert to join this gym. It's beginner friendly and extreme bodybuilder friendly. 10/10 would recommend!!! Random perk I also love: they have a little mini fridge that you can...
