NORTHWOODS CANDY EMPORIUM — Attraction in Rochester

I was in this store about a year ago and it was fine. My family and I went in today to pick out a treat when we were done at the mall and there were no treats to pick from. I’m not exaggerating when I say nearly every bin and shelf was empty. Basically the only candy they had was in the case and that was slim pickings and what we bought was obviously very old upon eating it. My husband asked the worker if the store was going out of business as that’s how it appeared. They said it was not, which means they were just that poorly stocked. To top it off as we were checking out the worker packaged up my 4 year old daughter’s treat and set it on the scale right in front of her (it was not something that needed to be weighed) so I told my daughter she could take it. The worker says “No!” and dang near snatched the bag out of my daughter’s hand as she apparently hadn’t rung it up yet. Just an all around bad experience. We...

This is the only candy store a person needs. The best fudge (selection varies so check in often). JellyBelly jelly beans which include “Every Flavor” Beans similar to the Potter movies. Assorted hard candies. Chocolate in many shapes, sizes and, themes. Even candy and chocolate-coated bugs. I just tried the latter for the first time. They were pretty good! Not sure which store is worse the one in the Mall of America or the one in Rochester. Visiting from out of town was excited to get some candy based off of the pictures and the sorely disappointed by both locations. Lots of empty spots that were dirty and the candy that was there was very hard and stale. Feels like a going out of business without advertising going out...
