I was passing through town and stopped here to check it out. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by employees and amazed at their massive wall-to-wall selection of games. I was immediately helped by Liz, who was knowledgeable and friendly. I'm very picky about games I collect, and asked her if she could check my stack of games to see if they had the manuals inside (tedious, I know!!). But she was not bothered at all and seemed happy to do it, checking them one by one and even putting them back in their plastic sleeves afterwards. We talked about game collecting and the interesting things you can find inside of the cases. I was also helped by Sam, who was happy to bring down items from behind the counter and show them to me, where I found a sealed copy of Super Meat Boy on PS Vita. Sam was also fun to talk to, and informed me that a 3D Super Meat Boy game is in development. We made small talk about games we enjoy. I ended up finding a fantastic selection of games of many different varieties, and even found some obscure things I had never heard of, like a promotional Pokemon VHS tape in mint condition (with some really fun paper inserts inside!). Their prices are very competitive, and you really can't beat their selection. Some things are just fun to go see in person, like a copy of Earthbound in the box! Good deals can easily be found here, which honestly surprises me in a store that is so big, organized, and clean. The best part is that the staff is really helpful, and they seem genuinely excited about games. This is one of the best experiences I've had in a game store, and if you are at all interested in video games or TCG, do yourself a favor and go check out Fire & Ice!

Fire and Ice Games in Rocklin, California has become a second home for my 11-year-old son, who eagerly attends their weekly Pokémon card tournaments every Tuesday night. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by a spacious, bright, clean, and well-organized space that is brimming with a myriad of gaming treasures. What truly sets Fire and Ice apart is its warm and welcoming culture that fosters collaboration and support among players. The staff members are the heart of this establishment, consistently exhibiting patience, friendliness, kindness, and helpfulness to ensure that every customer has a positive experience. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting my son's birthday party at Fire and Ice. We approached the staff with a request to organize our own card tournament, provided that we supported the shop with supply purchases for the tournament. Without hesitation, they granted us permission to set up in the back and run the event independently. The party was a blast, filled with excitement and joy for all the attendees. All the guests purchased gift cards from the shop for my son’s birthday. I wholeheartedly recommend Fire and Ice Games to anyone seeking a gaming haven where fun and camaraderie abound. It is my hope that more children will discover this gem of a store and immerse themselves in the world of Pokémon card games. A huge shoutout to the exceptional staff at Fire and Ice for their unwavering support and dedication to creating a vibrant community of gamers.

I make it a habit to stop into local games stores whenever I’m traveling. Let me start by saying that beyond the immaculate branding and ease of finding the place based off a quick search the moment you enter the shop you realize that the owner Ryan and his team have made some very deliberate and thoughtful choices. My head immediately snapped to a gorgeous graded copy of Earthbound and an array of incredible classic gaming history surrounding it. Dare caught my attention and immediately got to work helping me put together a bundle of n64 multiplayer classics and everything I’d need to share a slice of my childhood with my friends. Beyond the incredible selection of games their singles collection for Magic had anything you could want to assemble a pretty spooky commander deck. The team here is super passionate about their craft, each with their own niche of nerddom they represent and share that passion with everyone I watched come in and in the three visits I made over the course of my week in town. I would and plan to fly back just to stop into the shop and I hear they are opening another location soon. I waxed poetics. This is a nerd paradise and I will rave about them to anyone who asks and look forward to coming back. To any of the team who reads this, you guys made my week thanks for being so talented and in touch with so much of gaming culture.

An Unforgettable Retro Gaming Paradise: Fire and Ice Games Roseville CA.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 Stars)

If you're a true gaming enthusiast who loves the nostalgia of classic video games, then Fire and Ice Games is an absolute dream come true! This hidden gem of a store is a haven for retro gaming aficionados and offers an unparalleled collection of vintage video games that will transport you back in time.

The moment you step into Fire and Ice Games, you're greeted by an impressive sight - a vast store filled to the brim with video games from various eras. It's a true delight to see shelves upon shelves stacked with classic cartridges, CDs, and consoles, neatly organized to perfection. The store's layout is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy to navigate and find exactly what you're looking for.

The sheer variety of retro games available here is nothing short of astonishing. From iconic titles that defined generations to hidden gems that deserve more recognition, they seem to have it all. Whether you're a fan of the Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, or PlayStation, Sega Saturn you name it Fire and Ice has it, you'll find a treasure trove of games from each era.

The staff at Fire and Ice Games are as passionate about gaming as their customers. They are extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell and are always eager to assist in finding the perfect game or console for you. Their friendly and approachable demeanor adds to the overall shopping experience.

As a retro gaming enthusiast myself, I was overjoyed to find some rare titles that I had been searching for years. Fire and Ice Games didn't disappoint, and the best part was the reasonable pricing. Unlike some other retro gaming stores that may overcharge for their products, Fire and Ice Games offers fair and competitive prices.

Not only does the store cater to hardcore gamers, but it's also a fantastic place for those who are new to the retro gaming scene. The staff is more than willing to recommend great entry-level games and consoles, ensuring that everyone can embark on a nostalgic gaming journey.

Lastly, the size of this store is incredible! It's super spacious, allowing customers to browse at their own pace without feeling cramped. The atmosphere exudes a sense of gaming magic, and you'll likely lose track of time while immersing yourself in this retro gaming wonderland.

In conclusion, Fire and Ice Games is a mecca for retro video game enthusiasts. Its impressive collection, knowledgeable staff, and well-organized layout create an unmatched shopping experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this store to anyone looking to relive the magic of gaming's golden era. Whether you're hunting for a specific vintage game or simply want to soak in the nostalgic ambiance, Fire and Ice Games won't disappoint. A must-visit for all gamers, young and old alike! I hope my Review helps you on your game collecting...

I have visited a lot of retro video game stores throughout the state to include the Bay Area, Southern California, Central Valley… and numerous other places. I’ve also been collecting retro video games for over 15 years and have been an avid gamer for over 40 years. So I say this with conviction…. Fire and Ice Games is quite possibly the best retro video game store in all of California.

The moment you walk in the door you are overwhelmed with the sheer size of this place. The square footage is unreal. You could probably fit a diesel truck and two trailers in this place. No exaggeration. Secondly… their game inventory is unbelievably massive. They have video games for every system you could think of from Dreamcast to TurboGrafx-16 to Sega CD to Virtual Boy and of course NES, SNES, GameCube, PlayStation 1 – 5, and all the XBOX’s with their confusing names (lol) and so many more. You can tell that the staff at Fire and Ice Games care about their product. Each game appears to have been cleaned and cared for and is placed in a protective plastic sleeve; making each used game feel new again. In addition to a great selection of common titles with reasonable prices, they have sooo many heavy hitters (rare and pricey games) here! It’s literally insane.

They also have a wide selection of retro game consoles available for those of you just getting into the retro game scene and looking to pick up where they left off in their childhood memories. Also, Fire and Ice has a wide selection of Pokemon cards (if that's your thing) and board games. Matter of fact, I believe a Pokemon tournament was happening the day I showed up. Which was cool. Sorry, I’m an old guy so I don’t really understand the card game.

Lastly, the best part of this store is not the size, the selection of games, or consoles, but it's their staff. Their staff was quick to help as soon as I walked in the door. I didn't have to seek out assistance, because it seemed like when I appeared that I may have had a question or request, they approached me first to provide immediate help. You can tell they had a deep passion for games, customer service and customer experience. I also had a chance to meet the owner Ryan. He was such a great guy who enjoyed talking about the gaming community. Additionally, I believe the other staff member who helped us was Dare. Dare was super helpful and was excited to talk about games. Dare was awesome!! This place is worth the drive from Lodi!! Much Love to everyone at this shop! I’ll definitely be...

In an age where everyone downloads their games from over the Internet, and where consoles are increasingly bought through various online marketplaces, it's stores like this that remind everyone of the lovely and very, very nostalgic aura that game stores still bring to this day.

If you're wondering what kind of inventory to expect to see from a visit to Fire and Ice, well frankly, just keep two words in mind: nostalgic and diversity. Seriously, almost any game console from any era you can think of is right here, and it's honestly extraordinary to see.

I'm not saying, for example, they may have a PS3 game or two, and maybe some Wii discs in the back stockroom complete with second-hand "Used" cases to boot; no, not here. Picture pleasant memories from by-gone console generations, build up an expectation for what you're going to find, and then be prepared to throw those expectations out the window. Anything from SNES, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast... even Coleco! There are several of these machines readily available, some even with their original boxes. The machines they carry are plentiful, very well-cared for, and are being offered at very good prices.

Not to mention the software library. Both the cartridges and discs are not only also very plentiful as well, but they are all rigorously cleaned and kept in immaculate condition. You can expect to find hundreds of these titles, in different mediums, and they are all hand-detailed, both inside and out.

I also had an amazing experience with the staff. Everyone here is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and always there to help you or talk to you when you need them. If you need help finding a specific software title, or have a question about literally anything they sell, you can expect to receive courteous and personable service every time. Ryan and Lee are absolutely amazing people to interact with in every way.

So while some may indeed find it convenient to buy their games from the comfort of their couch, I highly recommend you swing by and check these guys out, as there is still such an art to game stores, and that art is beautifully mastered at Fire and Ice. If you at least have a remote interest in scratching graphically nostalgic itches from days gone by, trust me, pay a visit here. You will not be...
