Service - Pro: Friendly and courteous, always smiling when speaking to customers. Con: There was bit that our beer was left sitting at the bar while our server was chatting with a couple male customers/friends. She left the table and grabbed their beer (ordered after ours) while leaving ours at the bar and went back to chatting with them. It wasn't too long, but enough for us to notice.
Food/price point - Pro: Loved the Mango Habanero Fish Tacos! Perfect amount of heat and crunch. Would recommend that for sure. Great price point for the meal. Husband enjoyed the 101 burger, but said it wasn't amazing. It was cooked well and the fries were crispy, but we've definitely had better. Con: We were NOT thrilled with how easy it was to miss the upcharge for beef on the menu. When ordering a burger, one expects the price listed to include the beef patty. Usually it is the substitutions that increase the price. If the chicken is included in the listed price, make it a chicken sandwich with the option to change it to a burger at an additional charge. Don't list a price for a hamburger next to a picture of a hamburger, but then upcharge for the burger patty. Additionally, the server did not confirm which protein we wanted nor did she mention the upcharge.
Beer/Price Point - Pro: Decent selection, some new ones that we have not tried. Con: The beer was not as cold as I would have liked (maybe due to the time at the bar?) and a bit more expensive than other local breweries/beer pubs in the area.
Atmosphere - Sporty, fun. Seems like a great place to hang out with friends and watch the games.
Conclusion - All in all, I am rather neutral about going back. The issue with the burger, while only an extra $1.50, did sour the experience. Especially when we weren't asked if that was what we wanted. We can overlook the server chatting with friends thus missing our beer, because honestly, it's a friendly atmosphere and seems fitting. We can overlook the slightly higher price point on the beer - that's what Happy Hour is for, but the upcharge for the beef patty seemed silly and in a way, sneaky. I never like feeling like I am being nickel and dimed -...
Read moreCustomer service is DEAD at UOB thanks to Andrew and his poor service! Today at around 2 pm in the pouring rain my 4 yr old grandaughter and I entered the the UOB Lonetree location. We were greeted by a young man named Andrew. He immediately pointed at a table for 2 in front of the door and next to a group of 4 guys (what 4 guys wants to sit next to grandma and a 4 yr old while throwing back a few beers?). I asked if we could please not be next to the draft of the door...he replied "NO you have to sit there at a table for 2". I looked around at the 6 other open tables in plain site and NOT in front of the draft, or near a group of 4 guys....and again asked could we sit over there (pointing to a 4 top) he said "NO that table is for a group of 4 that might come in". I then pointed to 4 other tables that were pushed together and away from the draft of the blowing wind of the front door...Can we sit there? He said NO you can only sit over there and pointed to the DRAFTY table foe 2 in front of the door. I looked at him in disbelief and replied "that's OK we will go eat somewhere else in the center that's considerate and wants our business" and left.
We parked in front UOB because it was pouring rain ealier and walked across the parking lot and enjoyed great customer service and a good meal at Applebee's. I was still in shock by the way we were treated...the rain had stopped so I walked back in to UOB and asked the rude youngman his name. He replied "Andrew"...no apologies, NO CLUE, NO Customer service skills.
When employers are so desperate that they hire any person with a pulse Andrew is what you get. Sad that this young man was NOT trained that the customer matters/no customer NO paycheck, or a very least that his parents didn't teach him comon courtesy...
Read moreWhen we arrived, it took a minute for staff to acknowledge us, finally having to approach staff to ask for a table. We were told there was a wait, even though there was a 6 top, plus 3 larger tables in the back. Staff told us the back was closed off, employees only. When looking at the "closed off tables",employees had their laptops, personal belongings and other items all over the tables. There were technically 20+ seats available staff told us we could not sit in. The female employee that we initially approached to ask for a table, short brunette, was rude, unpleasant and came off as if we were an inconvenience. Frankly she was absolutely rude, almost enough to make us leave but we had traveled many hours that day and just wanted a warm meal.
Also, I understand the beer menu changes constantly, but not having a physical menu, even a food one, is a huge limitation. No one offered us a tablet until I had asked about a menu 2 or 3 times because I had difficulties loading the website. We simply wanted to order a burger, not have to scan a code, be on our phones and have to experience technical difficulties just to order dinner.
Last, the bartender didn't know how to make a margarita. He had to reference a sheet for ingredients, I think someone in such a position should have someone to help train and support them. The bar had tons of fruit flies zooming around.
For a bar that boasts a great beer list and for a venue for great breweries to sell limited release beers, it was extremely disappointing. We received better service at McDonald's...
