Will start by saying upon walking inside. There was only one person working ticket sales. Which was fine yet there 1 more person at counter. After we waited for their conversation to end we received our 4 tickets in what seemed to be a rushed process.
On next to concessions. Standing in line with I would say 3 to 4 people we wait. Looking around guy is standing near counter concessions with a dirty mop buck staring into some distant place on the wall. The floors are covered with popcorn. Understandable to a point yet this seems more extreme as I look around. Line moves up 1 person. There is a large group of employees standing playing in a what i assume is a hallway just to side of concessions. Looks like all fun in games. One more spot has moved up in line. Wish I new the time frame since arriving here. Waiting and appears an employee maybe feels like working now walk to register and motion is as to come over he will serve us. This transaction was ok yet its hard to hear him over the group in the hallway and he still manages to carry on a conversation while serving us. Wife comes back from restroom and advices him the need attention. Not sure if he was paying attention.Paid & served moving on.
We move around as to find where to fill our empty cups. Around the corner we find the drink counter. Ok. Now popcorn is extreme all over and counter is a wreck and far from clean as I look for straws one container has had drink spilled in it. Other has very few and is dirty. We all went strawless. Wife explains restroom conditions and to sum it up wasnt worth standing to use. Walking to theatre now alot of people just sitting around this place like it's just a hangout and maybe catch random movies all night I assume.
In theater we take our seats lights dim and maybe it's a good thing as rest of establishment is just disgusting looking. Maybe things are turning around. Movie is on. Watching............ wait movie stopped a little audio now nothing screen still dark. We wait wait few people leave I assume let someone know there is a problem. We wait it's been 10 min. Employee walks into announce movie has stopped and may have over heated and will be back on in just a few minutes. Not sure if he really knows how long it's been off. We wait i least 10 more minutes. Movie starts again we are watching a ways back from where it stopped so I would assume it's been at least 30 min wasted. We finish movie.
As we exit theatre. Seems same crowd and some more people lingering halls. I step to the restroom. 2 out of 4 urinals are working. Floor is tacky as if it is wet paint. Dividers are nasty and disgusting. Paper towel roll on counter as if someone still dont know how to load in dispenser. Floors are just as disgusting. Walking towards front I look over to see if maybe I could talk to employee possibly talk to a manager. Looking around it appears it's an apocalypse and only survivors are people just attempting to get some justice for what the paid. No employees viable appears shutdown.
I will conclude by saying I dont believe that I have ever had movie or lack of experience this bad. That saying I have been to a theatre where we literally seen a roach on...
Read moreMy daughter and I went to the 4:10pm movie about the best Christmas program last night and got there 10 minutes before the movie was supposed to start in theater 11. We were the only ones there to see this movie. And this theatre 11 was absolutely freezing cold at 47° according to the temperature on the temperature control on the wall there, and the movie Never started! 10 minutes past time for the movie to start and Nothing ever came on the screen. Just dark and blank! So when I went and informed the Concession stand help Someone finally came and put the movie on 20 minutes after it was supposed to start, and then we had to watch 30 minutes of advertisements about geriatric stuff and insurance commercials before the movie finally came on and by that time we were feeling like blocks of ice! A fellow supposedly came and put the heat on inside theatre 11, but the heat never did come on, so just very cold air was blowing around the theatre for the whole time the movie was on , and as it got colder outside, it got colder in theatre 11as well, which is at the end of the hallway. When we got there it was 47° on their temperature control in that theatre because I checked with my phone flashlight, and it only got colder! We had our winter coats zipped all the way up as far over our noses as we could get them, with our hoods on also, and we were still freezing! With no warmth at all in the theater for close to three long redeculious hours, because of the long delayed start of the movie and the 30 minutes of commercials, we couldn’t care less about at that point it wasn’t even advertising movies coming soon or anything interesting, it was horrible!! After the movie was finally over, on the way down the hall out of the theater, I popped into all of the other theaters, and of the 11 that I popped into, only two of them had heat, and one of them had no movie showing at alll that had heat. As a matter of fact, this has been going on since last winter at least that I know of with no heat in the winter and no air conditioning in the summer. This building needs to be condemned or something because it’s not fit for people to pay to sit in and watch a movie, with these extreme temperatures and no warning whatsoever! Not to mention, the sound is awful in these theaters. With the music overpowering the dialogue or the sound in the theater next to you overpowering everything in your theater bc the walls are very thin and the sound is terrible, and they don’t even bother to put the movie on when you pay to see it. What the heck? 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s a shame that this is the best regular entertainment Rocky Mount has. There’s just very little for families or date nights to do in this town and that’s the only reason this place is still in business! What a disappointment...
Read moreThe wife and I brought the kids to the movies to see Inside Out 2. The movie was great - the theatre not so much.
We got there a little early since there is no designated seating. Upon walking into it, I noticed it was a little bit warm but thought the AC would kick in stronger at movie time.
By movie time, the theater was completely packed. I wasn't the only person mentioning it was a little warm in there. By the time the movie started rows of people in front and behind were sweating. Our only saving grace was a vent that was directly above me. The trickle of cool air blowing was weak but sufficient enough to keep the family comfortable. A few people went to the front to let workers know. I'm assuming that the AC was broken. Nothing changed.
4 drinks, 3 candy bags and 2 popcorns came to just under $80. The popcorn was bad. Made unsalted and unbuttered. Even after adding this it tasted off.
The movie experience could have been better. The movie was really good movie but listening to other movie goers behind us, continually commenting 'that's so sad,' was something I could do without.
Seats do not recline and there isn't much leg room. That means people getting up during the movie also were an issue. There's literally no room for someone to get out without hitting the back of someone else's chair. It happened to mine several times.
As I mentioned, the movie was really good but we definitely wished we had...
