Rania's Salon and Spa — Attraction in Rocky River

I hate to leave negative reviews but I feel like anyone looking to book bridal makeup/hair here should go elsewhere. Wedding days are stressful enough and getting glammed up should be the least of anyone’s concern. I booked my hair and makeup here for my wedding and came with photos of what I wanted. I spoke with Joyce on multiple occasions - who was wonderful over the phone and nice to talk with in the salon - and it was confirmed that Rania was doing my makeup and it would be a 2 hour service. This was not the case, as Rania was back and forth between multiple other clients doing hair cuts and color, meanwhile I was there on my wedding day for an appointment booked with her. It’s bizarre that they schedule multiple clients at a time with Rania when one is for bridal services and likely paying far more than anyone else there.

They charge $250 for each service ($500 total) and my results were awful - for makeup specifically. This was shocking because the Rania’s Hair Salon Instagram page has hundreds of photos of natural, light glam, and very dramatic makeup looks, supposedly done by employees at this salon. The struggle my makeup artist had doing my eyebrows was ridiculous to the point where I told her I would just fix them at home myself. I had already been there almost 2 hours and I needed them to start my hair so I could leave and get ready for my ceremony. She was very pleasant, however I don’t think she was experienced enough for a $250 makeup service that was no better than anything I could have done myself. If there was any chance that someone else might have been doing my makeup other than the person requested, that should have been discussed at the time the appointment was made.

Upon checking out $50 was deducted from my total, and I was told this was because she could tell I was unhappy with my makeup. This was a nice gesture, but it was also completely unnecessary stress on the morning of my wedding. I was late leaving the salon, late getting back home to put my dress on, and late getting on the road to the ceremony - all because I needed to fix the makeup I just paid to have done.

There is absolutely no merit to any bad review for Rania and her glam team. They just did my hair and makeup for my wedding on May 10, along with 8 bridesmaids, my mom, and 4 aunts. Rania and her team were nothing short of amazing! I’m so picky about my hair and makeup, and I vetted a lot of companies before choosing Rania. My bridal makeup and hair were perfect - I didn’t touch either one of them to fix anything. I felt so beautiful on my big day. All of my bridesmaids look amazing (one of my bridesmaids was a former Ram’s cheerleader and is also very picky about her makeup. She was going to do it herself and then saw how amazing all the other girls looked. She decided the morning of the wedding to get her makeup done and she was in love with it, as was everyone else!). Rania uses high quality makeup products and was so warm and welcoming from the minute I met her and her team at my trial run back in September. Her team is very responsive and professional, striving to make sure everyone loved their hair and makeup. They were timely on the day of the wedding and made us all beautiful exactly within the time range I had given them. I am not from Cleveland and was in town for my son’s wedding in Downtown Cleveland. I found Rania’s Salon & Spa on Instagram and was immediately impressed by her page and the gorgeous hair and makeup looks her past clients had shared. Pictures really do speak volumes about the quality of her work!

Since I knew wedding weekends can get hectic, I booked my appointment 6–7 months in advance and was lucky enough that Rania was able to accommodate me. My hair and makeup needed to be done by 8:00 AM and last all day, and she graciously agreed to start with me at 6:00 AM.

I hadn’t had a detailed consultation before the day of, but I completely trusted her expertise. I showed her my dress, mentioned a hairstyle I liked, and explained that dark eye makeup usually doesn’t suit me. She listened carefully, gave me thoughtful guidance, and created the perfect updo and soft, flattering makeup look that made me feel beautiful and confident.

Not only was her work flawless and long-lasting, but Rania herself is professional, kind, and incredibly sweet. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience on such an important day. I would absolutely recommend Rania and her team to anyone needing hair and makeup in Cleveland—you will be in...
