Good morning/afternoon/evening to anyone reading this. I wanted to share my experience when I went to Piada in Rocky River on 2/1/2023 around 7 pm. My cousin and I (two African American women) entered Piada together and when we went to order our food there was an older black woman already there having her order made. We waited patiently and then told the servers our order no problem. When the older black woman who walked in minutes BEFORE us whom we were not even conversing with got to the register, a Caucasian girl says she believed we were all paying together. My jaw dropped I was in shock because like I said we walked in MINUTES after this women and we did not know her at all nor conversate with her that whole time. If anyone is confused why her comment irked me, it is because that comment is an example of what we call micro aggression. It was clear as day as one of her coworkers looked at her in disbelief and the older black woman turned to us and said “she just said that because we’re all black right?”. I am not sure if Piada is not used to serving diverse customers but I felt very disrespected by the comment because for one not all black people know each other and two what makes you think we can’t pay for our own food? Mind you she wasn’t even the one ringing us up and if she was there are alternative ways she could’ve ask that if she genuinely was confused not that it was any of her concern because as I mentioned she was not ringing up orders. If the person who was ringing up orders was confused which she wasn’t because she actually paid attention, but if she was she could’ve just confirmed the older black woman’s order prior to ringing her up. For example, “ I see you have x, y, and z would you like to add anything to your order? Does that sound right? Am I missing something?” Is that’s simple. Clearly the staff needs to go through some sensitivity training or the managers need to be conscious of what kind of people they are hiring and having interact with customers. The food was great as it usually is but no food is good enough to deal with that kind of service . I took a lot of me not to play into the stereotypical angry black woman role, but I had to remind myself I am more than that and if I showed out I probably would’ve been arrested. It’s a shame that a place so good could be...
Read morePlace was kind of clean... food was okay, pasta was chewy getting stuck in my teeth. My first time ordering fast food pasta, so I wasn’t too sure what to expect... the girls that worked there seemed friendly maybe... but had very poor customer service and not a single smile, it seemed like they didn’t want to be there... as soon as I walked to the front I was not greeted or asked by anyone to take my order... the girls were all over the place for the place being so dead. I didn’t know who to talk to about ordering. I told them I have never ordered there before and they kind of brushed it off and kept doing a whole lot of nothing really... when other customers walked in they didn’t really say much, I guess they just started taking orders while I just stood there still waiting for them to say something to me... so I walked around to try ordering again and any questions I asked I just got very vague answers. At that point I just just told them to put in whatever people usually put in the pasta I picked out. idk it was just a very weird vibe and weird experience, I couldn’t wait to get out of there. They weren’t rude they just didn’t seem to have good personalities for people who work with the public. I have been in the service industry for years so I have a pretty good idea of good customer service and that just was not it. I’m not really trying to complain just commenting on my experience. Your employees, especially the ones working directly with the public are the ones reflecting on the business... As a business owner myself I pride my business on the best customer service and satisfaction possible. I’m not saying don’t go here, I just hope that maybe the owner or management see this review and possibly offer the employees some kind of training on...
Read moreThe food at Piada is great and I really wish there were more locations in the area because this particular location CONSISTENTLY screws up orders. Every time we have ordered online from here they’ve either left something out or give you the wrong items. Honestly it’s ridiculous because it’s all written out right in front of them. Tonight we ordered $40 worth of food and literally every item was messed up and they left out our cannoli chips but included the cannoli dip. We didn’t notice until we got home because when I checked at the store I saw the dip cups and just assumed the chips were in there as well. Don’t order as a pick up window order because they don’t notice you sitting there and then when you give up and go inside the girl that gave us our order tonight gave us an attitude that “it was a drive through order.” I understand they get busy but a cook walked past us several times and looked at us waiting in the car at the window and never said anything to anyone else. This location is just unacceptably inaccurate. Go inside and wait in the line so you can at least keep an eye on them to get what you actually want because they cannot handle online orders. I wouldn’t say anything if this was just a one time screw up... this...
