My husband recently surprised me with a spa package for my birthday. This was a much needed and thoughtful gift. Overall, the experience was very relaxing and staff were friendly. However, 100% without the facial, it wouldn’t be the experience it was.
The massage wasn’t bad but slightly underwhelming. I was also a little disappointed my head was never massaged (I’ve always had that as part of a full body massage). For the quality of the massage without the atmosphere/experience, a place like Panda Massage in Circle Pines is well worth your money and you’ll come out feeling like a new person.
10/10 the facial with Justin was well worth it! I was the most relaxed during this service and the small massage he provided was better than the full body I received. If I came back, it would only be for this and def with Justin! Highly recommend.
The pedicure was fine but typical of what you’d receive anywhere else. However, the foot exfoliation was better than most places.
Cons: The ambiance was originally calm though traffic quickly picked up and the “quiet space” wasn’t as serene, quiet or intimate as I’d hoped. Unfortunately, I would say this led to the environment feeling more corporate. At times, it also felt like they were on a time clock to get you in and out.
Along with that, I was fairly disappointed with the amenities and overall staff. I would say the staff was more friendly than professional, definitely more of a casual experience than high-end. The shower had no bath gel so I ended up having to shower again at home. No body lotion or after bath products (my gym provided more..). I’m sure they wash the robes, but when I initially got mine a chocolate wrapper was in it, which made me question it but have then the benefit of the doubt. I also did not realize they place your robe in a warmer when you’re getting a service done. I had a piece of chocolate in the pocket and thank goodness it was still in the wrapper because it had melted (would recommend staff check pockets beforehand or inform guests the process).
Despite the above, I do still feel it was a very lovely experience and I was able to have an overall relaxing day. However, for the quality of the experience I’m not sure I can justify the price except...
Read moreI was gifted a birthday gift card to Woodhouse Spa Rosedale and was excited to experience what I thought would be a relaxing day. Unfortunately, my visit was far from the serene experience I was expecting.
Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and given a quick tour, which initially set a positive tone. However, things quickly went downhill once I changed and entered the waiting room. While enjoying a cup of tea, I was approached by a staff member who politely asked if I was ready for my appointment. I told her I’d like to finish my tea first, but less than a few seconds later, another staff member abruptly informed me that continuing to drink my tea would cut into my massage time. I felt rushed and pressured despite being on time.
I hadn’t even completed the form they provided in the waiting room when I was hurried to my appointment. When the massage therapist handed me the form to sign, I explained that I wanted to read it before signing. I was again met with impatience, adding unnecessary stress to what should have been a relaxing experience.
After the massage, I went to the front desk to checkout and ask about the message written on my gift card, as I never received the digital copy. The front desk staff, who I later learned was Simon the manager, couldn’t locate the message. I shared my concerns about feeling rushed during my visit and was interrupted multiple times while trying to explain. When I asked him to stop interrupting and listen, his response was a sarcastic apology that left me feeling disrespected and unheard.
It was shocking to learn that this unprofessional behavior came from the manager himself. Instead of feeling relaxed and valued, I left the spa feeling rushed, dismissed, and incredibly disappointed.
I hope no one else has to endure such a frustrating experience. A spa should be a sanctuary for relaxation, not a source of additional stress. Woodhouse Spa Rosedale has a lot of work to do in terms of customer service, professionalism, and respecting the time and comfort of...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I are regulars at the Woodhouse in Maple Grove and have always had great experiences there. For our anniversary, we had dinner at Baldamar and thought it would be convenient to try the Roseville location. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectations set by Maple Grove.
From the start, the front desk staff felt unwelcoming—both when we arrived and during checkout. It almost seemed like they didn’t want to be there, which set a disappointing tone for our visit. Our massage was scheduled for 4 PM, and we arrived 30 minutes early, but our therapists didn’t arrive until 10 minutes after our appointment time.
The waiting area is noticeably smaller than Maple Grove's, and I really missed the reclining chairs that make the wait so much more comfortable at the other location. That said, the space was aesthetically pleasing—clean, calming, and thoughtfully designed.
We booked the 80-minute Balanced Body massage, but it felt like our specific requests regarding focus areas were ignored. While both massage therapists were kind, one of them left right after the session, leaving the other to guide both of us out. Also, I had specifically requested a male therapist for myself and a female therapist for my boyfriend for personal comfort, and that request was not honored.
For a special occasion and the premium price, the experience just didn’t meet our expectations. We’ll definitely be returning to the Maple Grove location in the future, where the service and atmosphere consistently feel worth...
