While their beds are good, their customer service after you buy the bed is terrible. The bed is under warranty for 10 or more years, but each year you have the bed, it pays for less and less of the cost of any of the parts. Labor is not included in the warranty and in order to even make an appointment for service of the bed, you have to pay $190 ahead of time. Any repair people we have come to our house don’t require payment until they have come to the house, but not the Sleep Number co. We talked with the repair department for Sleep Number several times. One of the representatives was rude during the whole conversation. It was suggested we need to replace the pump in one of the conversations and they sent us an email about how to do that ourselves. The next person we talked to said that if we replaced it ourselves, that would void the warranty. We tried to talk to a manager at the store we bought the bed at and he said that is a different department and he doesn’t have any input into that aspect of things, plus the repair department isn’t even open on Sundays. Bruce Iverson looked up the bed my niece had purchased a couple of years ago; it just happened to be the one bed I hadn't tried - and BINGO! SO, the order was changed and a new date set for delivery. The experience was terrific; I was never hurried, all questions were answered and the change in selection, being before delivery - just, was understood and handled professionally.
